The last 4 times i've started it 'cold' about 25* C outside, it's been hard to start and the CEL has come on, it's code 22, coolant temp sensor/circuit.
Starting it 'warm' after this has no problems.

Today before oil change It struggled to start took 5 tries. When it did, the engine warmed up but no change on the temp gauge. Disconnected the fan switch plug and they worked.

Later after I changed the oil it started perfectly, temp gauge was perfect, fans kicked in, no CEL.

Picking up a new efi water temp sensor tomorrow just incase.

Thinking it might be the cold start injector water sensor? I think i'll know if it's hard to start in the morning

If not the sensor, where do I check the wiring? Does it go straight to the ECU?

Subscribing to this... Have the same problems...

    Ive changed:
    Cold start injector
    MAF
    Full tune up
    Starter relay mod
    and a few other things

    Still having issues

could be cold start injector switch (brown plug on coolant neck)

the csi water sensor/switch has pins STA and STJ, whcih both go to the ecu AND the csi itself) iirc
