mephtar...I still don't believe you're calculating it correctly considering no one else with a 3sge gets that good of mileage....but whatever... I also don't really care...lol

well when i fill mine up and i drive really nice (shift @ 2000) i get about 300miles (needle is at the 1/4 line). thats 300miles divided by 11gal=27.27mpg

u cant say its about a 1/4 tank

first off that needle is nowhere near precise and second off the last 1/4 goes the fastest on these dials in my car at least

    fill it up
press ur tripometer to make it 0

drive to somewhere between E and 1/4 lower the better technically. goto the gas station and record how many liters/or miles to fill and see how many km or mles u went and do it from then

oh ya i just got 20.59 best in a long time and its still runnin rich as crap ;p

still getting 30mpg, still doing it wrong :D but if I was off by even a small bit, the accumulative total of beign off after 15 trips to the gass station would probaby mean I be stranded by now. done it this way for every ounce of gas ive put into the car for 3000km, and it all points at 30mpg. can you try it our way youds and see how accurate it is so we know if we are close or not

well pressing the reset button isnt much work, and if something is going wrong with the engine chances are ill pick it up from the miles. Its just proving that its consistant, and keeping track of car health

No rocket science here, guys. Fill it up. Zero the trip. At next fill up, divide miles driven by how many gallons you just put in.

You guys up north have to do a bit extra math for us since President Reagan refused to let us learn the metric system down here.

Just remember that the Imperial gallon is more than the US gallon, so when you toss numbers back and forth across the border, consider the gallon you're using. You should see more miles per Can/gallon than miles/US gal.

    I'm 23-25 miles/US gal - always driving hard (didn't get a 3SGE to shift below 5000 rpm). That would equal 28-29 miles/Canadian gallon.

We dont use gallons anyways in canada so its the metric british people gallon I guess you are talking about. An easy way to do it is get your km per liter and times by 2.35214

p.s. I think I just discovered how they can put BS 44mpg window stickers on a Ford

Oh, sorry. When I moved down from Canada, it was still measured both ways. My bad.

Nice fuel mileage converter. I hate how they decided to use litres/per 100 kilometres in Canada, f*cking retarded.
I get about 22 MPG city driving in my 89GTS. I can go about 550 kms before I get nervous and fill up. (That's with my fuel light ON for 2days, heheh) The 88 ST165 is worse, about 18-20 MPG, city.
