Fuel gauge wiring

I ran into a problem after installing a new fuel pump on my 86 gts. The wiring harness under the rear seat for the fuel gauge busted. Now I have no idea which wires connect to which. Of course they are not the same color on both sides of the junction, that would make too much sense!

My question is: Can anyone scan a page of the electrical manual that shows which connects to which or just go pull the rear seat out of your gts and tell me which connects to which?

Of course the BGB doesn't have this info.

The electrical manual does not go into any more detail than the BGB. It does not show the plug or indicate which wire conects to which wire.

Your best bet is some good photos of the car side plug and its wires.

I figured that would be the case. Anyone that could take a good picture, or just tell me how to wire this up?

I have an All Trac so my gas tank is located diferently than a GTS. Do you leads coming out of the tank look like mine?

Looks basically the same to me. Its the white connector with the 4 wires that I'm concerned about. The tank side is the side with the broken connector. If you can tell me which colors match to which, I will try it when I get home from work.

Well those plugs are kind of covered by my battery box now but I do have a GTS fuel pump & wiring harness in the garage so when I get home tonight I'll try and find the correct plug and get you some pics.

I just want to make sure that we are on the same page here so I don't waste your time taking pictures.

I believe I might need the wiring for the sending unit.

Since I am now not sure, I will have to take some pics when I get home. Now if I can find the cd for my camera to be able to upload the pics, thats another problem altogether.

Well I'll takes pics of both plugs. One plug will be for the pump and the other will be for the sender. Like I said I do have a GTS fuel pump and it is mounted with the sender unit so I'll get both plugs for you.

If you can get pics of the car side plug it will make it easier for me to find the correct harness in my garage.

I will get on it as soon as I get home. It should be around 5:00.

OK here are the pics of what is going on. The tape is so the wires dont touch and short accidentally.
Here is the closeup of the harness in question.

Okay I found my sender unit and got a pic of the plug. My car harness must still be outside in my GTS shell but I can tell you how it goes.

Black wire (sender plug) ---> brown wire (car plug)
Red wire Blue stripe (sender plug) ---> Yellow wire Green stripe (car plug)
Yellow wire Blue stripe (sender plug) ---> Yellow wire Red stripe (car plug)
White wire Black stripe (sender plug) ---> White wire Black stripe (car plug)
