I have an 86 GTS with the adjustable front camber cams on the strut. If I swapped in a pair of the later 89 NON-adjustable complete front strut assemblies, there wouldn't be any issues, would there?
No, there shouldn't be. Worst case, if your camber is wrong with the new setup, it can be made adjustable by increasing the strut's upper bolt hole. In case you change, can I buy the camber cams from you?
I really don't see any problems other than maybe an alignment. Sometime the outer tie rods are dinked with because of the tire wear...
Yeah, I noticed my spare set of ST185 hubs doesn't have the adjuster cams - wtf? Lion - I will look out for some of those for you
For the ST162, they had the adjusting cams on the 86 and 87. Some early 88s had 'em; late 88s usually did not. AFAIK, none of the 89s had 'em. I'm just swapping b/c I can't find any 86 strut assemblies. I've got something wrong with one of my struts and don't want to disassemble it. Faster and cheaper for me just to swap in a used set.
