Dose anyone know if the 5th Gen's sway bars will fit? Cuz I found aftermarket ones for a 5th gen but can't find them for a 4th gen.

i can't say if they will or not. however, i have been told this by many people on here, upgrading them is not really needed. they are damn good as they come. but if you are looking for an aftermarket company with credability, you want to look into whiteline suspension. they are a company out of australia or nz i believe. they have suppliers here though. http://www.raptorracing.com is a supplier. i asked them about them and they are between 120 and 150 each if i remember correctly. and shipping is about 20 or 30 bux. raptor is a great comppany. their site is down but you can email them. you will probably talk to George. he is a nice guy. gave me pricing for the sways and tower bars. i opted not to get the sways because i was told not needed. but the tower bars will help. front and back from the alltrac from whiteline. should be no fittment problems. hope this helped. also check out the suspension upgrade ideas at this link on here. it will let you know what is possibly needed.

Why not??? The front one is not bad, but the rear one is tiny.

check out this thread on our forum here. i asked the same question. if mafix says you dont need it, then i am pretty sure you won't. in fact there are about 30 or so other guys on here that have taken these things apart, put them back together and have had the car done at pretty much every angle. i myself thought that the sway bars would be a good upgrade. but when you think about it, if you pay 150 for a swaybar, and then buy the bushings and everything like that, install it, and drive it, and notice that nothin has changed, then you are out 200 bux + time. i dont know of anyoone on here that has upgraded. anyone??? but hey if not, then you could always be the first and we could learn from you! j/k anyways check it out. 3 people told me it wasnt needed. i dunno what you plan to do with your car, but i am auto-x like 3 times a year and this is my daily driver. so basic upgrades are wanted for me. but i think we could do without this one. let me know if it works though.

I would worry less about the sway bars, and worry more about strut tower bars. ;) Chances are, you will be more happy, and notice a lot more in the way of stability and road control.

A stiffer rear bar will put you closer to a neutral handling position, or maybe even slighty into oversteer. That is much better than understeer for any sort of racing where turns are involved, like auto-x.

I have a whiteline rear bar in my race car, it helped a lot. Otherwise the front end would push all day, and that really eats up the right front tire (both tires in your case). A stiffer rear suspension will help get more of the corning load onto the rear tires.

what do you plan to do with your car flip? like i said, i plan to go auto-x on the beginner class or whatever they call it, but only a few times a year. this is my daily driver so i dunno if that rear sway is going to matter to me or not. strut bars are coming soon though. i will be taking a million pictures of that for sure!

I know there are a couple autocross classes where front sway bar mods are illegal... this puts your celica at an advantage :D
