Well today I was going down the highway, my engine just died. Now lately it was making a small ticking noise, and when I restarted the engine it was a loud knocking around the 1st cylinder area, and it idled like it was othe verge of stopping again. Now my buddy who owns a 91 Celica said that it might be that the timing belt snapped, but I'm thinking more that I effup my 1st cylinder. Any words of wisdom?
words of wisdom: my friend you have thrown a connecting rod. new motor time. or at least a new short block. how many miles did you get on that motor?
Yeah thats what I had thought. The old engine/tranny had a bit over 437xxx kms on her, so shes paid her dues.
yep, typical rod failure miles. she has done her duty. well i suppose you'll be looking for a motor now.
check paautoracing in the mods. they can get the 20v jdm ge's. that should power you up. also i think you can get the dual tvis motor.
now is dual tvis that theres 2 intakes? or just twin cam and tvis abbreviated? cause right now I have a DOHC with TVIS...swap issues?
