Hello all, Can you post a readable picture of your Toyota engine bay ID tag? The metallic one on the firewall behind the T-VIS. I would like to compare and try to decode ST162 Euro/US-CA/AU-NZ tags. Thank you
alrite sry for the delay........us id tag i couldnt get a great shot but the numbers and letters go like this ST162L-BLPVKA 8D7 YV83 -743 A140L
The first US tag. Thanks. Weird big blank zone. ST162L-BLPVKA ST162L : 3S engine family with left hand drive B : Celica L : liftback P : 4 speed auto mounted on the floor V : luxury sport range K : Twin cam economy (3S-FE) A : US market 8D7 : metallic blue body color YV83 : blue fabric trim.
Canadian Celicas have the same VIN form than european ones? US ones have a different and longer form, no? BLPVKK B : celica L : liftback P : 4 speed auto on the floor V : luxury sport K : Twin cam economy K : Canada market. I agree with you. "7" is from the chassis code but it must have a meaning, as the rest of the number is for the sequential number of the car. And about the "0"..?
It is, you can tell when the car was made by the number No, not vinyl - Velvet TEMS was built early 1988, so the colour was around from 1988 I loved the blue/black combo and would have kept it if the seats weren't so uncomfortable There are so many interior variations! Original post is gone, here's the JDM TEMS plates again
#356410 EUDM liftback Celica 162 with 3SGE and manual S53 gearbox. Super red body color. Grey interior. Probably from UK, it's a RHD.
The factory and year aren't mentioned on euro ID tag. #356410 must be 1989 made. Yes, exactly the same, but color is 202 solid black.
Could you post all the codes again? most of this thread is missing. Also - what does the letter after the model no designate? ie ST-162, ST-162L - (lhd?), ST-162R etc
