I bought an LED panel that i wanna attach to the interior of my roof for some extra lighting. It comes with holes on each end to be mounted somewhere. I've got an st162 with a sunroof. Where can/should i mount it? I'm worried that i'd drill into an important part and something would break. How would i go about it?
Man just take down the headliner! It comes down really easy, just take off your visors, the holy-shit handles, and any other little grommets in the way, then just pull it down, you'll find a brace under there somewhere to attach it to, and make sure your sunroof can move freely!
or if it isnt heavy then just bolt it through the headliner into a matal or plastic plate on the backside....then you aren't even drilling into your roof
taking down the headliner to put a plastic piece as an anchor would be a good idea too so you can wire it up and make sure you don't interfere with anything important
if it's really light just tape it. if you take down the headliner have the sunroof all the way back so you cna see where it goes to.
That's why I suggested taking it down and drilling into a brace...unless it's very light in which case it would be ok to anchor it to it...led's are usually pretty lightweight....
Dont drill thru your roof to mount L.E.D lights - Just remove the Headliner and make little mounting brackets if you have to- What color are you looking to install??
