Anyone happen to know the dimensions for the radiator? I'm planning on putting in an aluminum one, but I need a few custom changes to it.

Basically, I need the same size, more or less, but then I need to top tube pushed all the way to one side, rather than in the middle, because I'm going to modify the hood, and it interferes.

I have a 3S-FE, but the engine shouldn't matter in this case.

well in that case but compare to the 3sgte the radiators are different :D cause of the extra turbo coolent port :D

You think maybe a 3" thick radiator would fit in there? Obviously the mounting brackets woudln't work.. but I just mean the physical fit. Ron Davis has a stock 26x16x3.

physicly, 3" is really iffy, you want room for the engine to move around and you definatly dont want it to smack your radiator.

I would go 2.5, you might be able to get away with 3 if you get slimmer fans. and you would probably want to bend the O2 sensor nub a bit cause it sticks out a lot.

i dont think you can just bend the o2 sensor nub...

the part outside the manifold that the wire comes out of? it just looks like a metal casing but it's really long.

to be on the safe side go with 2.5 cuz 3 might be too big. It will probobly fit with slim fans but you want room for the engine to move. Last thing you need is for your engine to smack your radiator.

fe and ge are the same rad. stock is 5/8" thick, turbos are 1 1/4" thick. on a non turbo, unless you are racing all the time, a new stocker should be fine.

I'm not worried about cooling at all. My problem is that I need a custom one with the hose returns in different locations, and was hoping that the stock size aluminum radiator from some other car might fit out of luck. Which is why I wanted a 3", because someone makes a 26x16x3. :)

3" Is probably pushing my luck though.. so I will have to dig around some more and see what else is out there in that approximate size range. Maybe some aluminum radiator for a honda would fit.
