    Hey guys!
I'm looking at a set of 16x7 black Motegi 5 spoke wheels, they come with excellent tires, and for the price I figure I can't go wrong. However, I need to make sure the tires are the correct size to fit the All Trac before I buy these, otherwise it's a waste...

The wheels are correct with the 5x100 lug pattern and the tires are:

    205/55R16 x7
24.8" overall size, top to bottom

    What do ya'll think?
My car is at the school, so I can't see what tires it's got on it now...LOL otherwise I'd just compare!

Correct size for original gearing/speedo is 205/45/16.

I use 205/50/16 x7 and the speedo overreads by 7%. Ie at 100km it reads 107km/h.

I suspect yours will read over by about 10%.

Nothing wrong with the tyre size but make sure you have at least 5mm clearance to the rear shocks and fender flares.

Ok, cool. Not horribly worried about the speedo being a bit off at the moment. It comes down to what I can get that fits for the cost. Even if I only use the tires until next year, I'll be good. I want to sell my 7th gen rims and use the stock rims for winter use next year... And the guy is asking $500 for the Motegis with Toyo tires, or I can get a set of tires for $450 LOL sooo....

the rears could be a problem. i couldn't fit 205/55/16s on mine, depends on the offset of those motegis as well

    Backside Spacing (in): 5.57
    Offset: 40mm

hmmmm...something to think about eh? What was your offset?

my offset is +43. jeez i didn't know that when i got the wheels lol (cheap set impulse)
so it's 3mm closer to the car than your set. mine is also 16x7, and when i tried 205/50/16, i needed a 5mm spacer to clear my strut housing. i didn't bother trying 205/55/16.

ask if you can test fit first before giving cash!

Hey, new to the site, got a chance to get 4 205/50/16 tires, i had 205/45/16 n they were fine, does anyone know if they will fit ok or not, dont kno the offset but they are konig elans, help would be appreciated you can pm me. (89 gt convertible 3sfe) thanx (? if the old tire fit no prob and all i am doing is making the tire taller would it hit anything)

    eNtraxGT88 is right.
I had 205/50R16s and they barely fitted (7th gen rims). I'd say about 1mm space left between the tire and the spring dish (or how you call it :) ).
I don't know if the ST165 rear strut is any higher, but 205/55R16 won't fit the ST162 for sure :S

I did get the 205/50/16 all 4 ,I got them on Konig Elans, dont kno the offset but they do fit on the gt, there is 1mm of space between the tire and spring dish in the rear. the only prob is when going at decent speed and take hard turn the wheel hits the bottom of fender when it is turned so far at the same time. Still good though, dealable until I go for a 205/45, can certainly feel diff though (slower out the hole)

Not all sidewalls are the same - dangerous if the tyre rubs during cornering

In the rear even though my tires are 1mm close, I checked and they do not rub, I only have to worry about the front when turning with a bounce
