So ive been looking through this section, seems that Megan racing coilies for the 182 may be ok for my '87 car with a little modification...any other suggestions ,as I don't have much luck here in the UK finding any 162 specific suspension options.

ive done the megans on my 87, check my build thread for more details but it was stupid simple. fronts bolts straight on...rears need filing to fit on hub is all.

Ceika make a kit that bolts straight up. A couple of members have them, I can only think of KevinD off the top off my head, but I know there are a few more.

BC Racing also do coils for the FWD 5th-gen that should bolt up with the same mod to the rears as the Megans. Haven't heard of anyone using them on a 4th-gen though.

any coilover kit for a 5th gen (bc, megan, tein, cusco, ect) fwd will work. the rear needs minor modification. ceika is the only straight up bolt on kit.

Just making sure I read your guys posts right. Any kit for fwd 182 will work for a 162 with slight mods to the rear? No other problems?

Also look into Ground-Control, their 182 kit allows you to choose your spring rates and specify what shocks or inserts your running.....www.ground-control.com
Or you could simply buy my KYB AGX equipped front struts with Eibach lowering spring and the rear springs to match, $200 plus shipping.

IM definitely looking for something adjustable. I want to be able to slam thus thing to the ground (if I wanted to) and still be able to have some sort of suspension travel. That way I don't bottom my suspension out hit pebbles in the road.

then you'll want the megans, im almost to the ground with lots of suspension room to move

Nice just looked threw your post of 26 pages (using the app) to find your pics. Looks plenty simple enough. What year kit specifically did you order?

The 162 suspension is the same for both Coupe and Liftback, only real difference is access to the strut tops, coupes are a little tougher to get to but chassis is stiffer.

Also just a side note, if you plan on "slamming" your car, be prepared to use at least half of your bump stop still installed, otherwise you risk severe damage the shocks internally!!

Having raced FWD cars since 1980, I have found that a car lowered to the max actually hurts it's ability to handle properly. The reason this happens is angle of control arms, a properly lowered car will still have it's control arms slightly pointed downward. The only way around this would require raising the inboard mounting points higher on the chassis, or having custom hubs made to raise the hub center line!

My car lowered about 2 1/2" and still with good travel left, handles like a go-cart!

Alright thank you. No when I slam it it will be just for looks. But I would be raising it when I bring it to autocross events.

I'm also lowered 5 1/2 inches from stock height. U will need to find custom shorty end links or u will blow them with the first ride.....honestly slamming for looks isn't the best as u will bust ur tranny pan.....its the lowest part of the car......u honestly can't slam our cars due to this without having spacers to raise the motor up. I lowered mine to where the wheel gap is gone....I still hit sometimes
