Hi guys, posted a while back my UK 162 'CJN',got some great feedback from you as she looks great but beauty is only skin deep;so ive been seriously diving into a slight resto which seems to be developing into a total stripdown! Some pics for you all...

    Heres how she was

    And as she is now(!)

All pretty good so far,in fact some of the car is absolutely tip top, inner and outer sills are excellent

Ive been sealing with waxoyl as i go after a lot of scrubbing underneath of surface rust but is going good, under wheelarches too

found a couple of bits that need attention, drivers side (UK) footwell has a small hole above throttle pedal

    and one under front wheelarch

Not major but annoying.Overall shes a good solid car, even found the original tools lol

Tomorrow ill be checking out the brake lines plastic covers that Rich (sidewayz)kindly warned me about, then seal up the drivers side rear wheelarch and look to repair the small holes i found!Cheers for looking, ill keep the pics up for those that want to see how she progresses,im not going for a track beast, hoping to bring it back as close to original as is feasible.Apologies for size/quality of pics, ill sort that out!Good luck with yours!Derren

Cheers Sean, the Hammerite one with added Waxoyl is good stuff. The earlier you do it the better mate,if you scrub and then do your underside you can forget it for about 10 years!

Hi Mafix yeah theres plenty of that, ive got a selection of wire brushes and a drill with various wire cups on that ive been using to get it all off, treat and then seal with the waxoyl.Any helpful advice from anyone is gratefully received as this is my first go at a resto,if i hadnt bought her back in the summer the guy would have scrapped her as there was no interest in anyone buying due to a few bits that needed doing, mainly exhaust manifold etc and other bits so hopefully ill do her justice and have her back where she belongs,on the open road!
