Ok here the issues- I have a Brake and Alternator lights on- I have replaced the Alternator- solved that light. But the Brake light will not go off, ive checked all the fluids,Reset the ECU- and its still on. :?: An addntl, when i was installing the Alternator i adjusted the Belt tensioner- and I literally heard the engine run easier- maybe that will help with response when accelerating!!!!
well. really make sure that fluid is full ;p. a recommendation for everyone.... dont brake that belt tensioner bolt hahaha
My ebrake is a tad weak (I have to pull it so high I have to bash my thumb with my other hand to get it to release sometimes...), where do I tighten it? Brakes aren't my strong point...
ooo i read about this right before taking my car off the road. im quite sure its just a screw on the ebrake handle assembly (below the console ;p)
ok to be more exact... and since i have time ill type out the haynes explanation with the figure as well haha (im getting access to mitchel ondemand5 soon ;x) 13 Parking brake - adjustment Refer to illustration 13.3 1. The parking brake lever, when properly adjusted, should travel four to seven clicks when a moderate pulling force is applied. If it travels less than four clicks, there's a chance the parking brake might not be releasing completely and might be dragging on the drum or disk. If the lever can be pulled up more than eight clicks, the parking brake might not hold adequately on an incline, allowing the car to roll. 2. To gain access to the parking brake cable adjuster, remove the center console (see Chapter 11). 3. Loosen the locknut (the upper nut) while holding the adjusting nut (lower nut) with a wrench (see illustration). Tighten the adjusting nut until the desired travel is attained. Tighten the locknut. 4. Install the console.
that only applies to guys with rear calipers. if you have rear drums and feel your ebrake getting higher and higher you need to clean and adjust your rear brakes not the handle.
Alright I figured out what it was- well for those that have put thier battery in the back the fuse block is attached to the battery strap- well i just laid it where the battery was- and it started to wear at the wires going to the block- in turn was causing the lights to flicker. lolol Rule # 1-- dont have ass your charging system it is a headache to figure out lolol
I barely use brakes...downshift FTW!!! I mean I haven't had to change my pads/rotors yet...rear rotors are getting there though...but they're damn expensive and still stop hard enough that my tires slide...so new tires seem more important to my stopping ability
