Well you do one thing and another comes along!Since getting my car back on the road shes been great, but all of a sudden shes struggling to tick over on idle, drives fine though,no hesitations ,just when i come to a stop she drops down to around 500RPM ,very lumpy kind of 'put-put-put' effort, almost trying to cut out.She had been fine like i say.I replaced the large hose from the throttle body to the air flow unit with a silicone one as the old one was cracking up a bit ,also ive swapped the AFM with another, but no difference. No pipes or hoses seem to have come adrift or any electrical connections that i can see.shes had all service parts done, bar plugs at the moment, timing set up spot on with new rotor arm .dizzy cap etc etc.Been fine til the other day.Any suggestions be helpful,im assuming if a HT lead was breaking down or a plug then it would affect the car while accelerating etc,not just sitting there idling. Also, someone mentioned idle control valve, where is it and how do you go about replacing it,ive got a donor car i could rob a part off if i need to.
    Thanks guys.
PS i noticed some posts about this but cant seem to read all of them for some reason?just the last post of the topic, for example theres 13 posts on a topic but just says 'page 1 of 1' :shock

The IAC (idle air control) valve is on the throttle body. It has 2 small coolant lines attached to it!

ok thanks,im looking now at taking off the throttle body ,giving it a good clean and see what happens.Ive got a donor car so i may rob the one off that and give it a clean and put it on mine if it doesnt solve it.Bar that im out of ideas

Sometimes carbon falls in and clogs the iac, but it may have just shit the bed.
If you have a spare, you may as well swap it, just remember to bleed the cooling system after.

Big thanks for all the suggestions guys, and youll be happy to know shes fixed!!!!!!!!

Id been looking at sensors etc etc,and also discovering that the loom connections from the UK 'facelift' cars from 88 0nwards are different from the prefacelift 87 car that i have,so i couldnt swap them straight over from my donor car to eliminate those from my investigations..Doh.Thanks Toyota.
But,after a link i was given by the 182 forum over on CCUK i went back again to check the sensor for the PAS i think it is,which has two pipes going into it.Id already had a look to see if any pipes missing before, but it wasnt til i pulled on the near one i found it had a split behind the top sensor end,so it fell off in my hand!Trimmed it back, put it back on (and a small cable tie to make sure) and f*** me that was it,running sweet as she ever did.

Pic after id sussed it,the pipe is split but behind so you cant see.touched it and it fell off the sensor towards me,obviously wasnt sealing.
