What's the best way to install camshaft seals on GE?
With engine oil? multi-purpose grease? oil sealant? nothing (dry installation)?

I only oil the inner & shaft and tap them in with a socket. (If that leaks there's problem with the shaft or housing)

You can cheat by loosening the caps slightly and changing them by hand -
carefull not to overtighten as I've seen these heads crack there

    Thanks Kevin

It seems that I could easily install the seal by hand (but I didn't try to push it completely).
Is the special tool (or a socket) necessary?

    Do you use engine oil?

Yes, engine oil on the lips of the seal and the shaft or you can even use light grease

In this case the socket is more to help you get the seal in straight or it
    will wear in no time
