Okay, I bought a 89 celica gt last year, heat never worked, but blower motor/air did as well as the a/c. Never cared too much for heat anyways. But back to the major concern, it's coming up on hotter days here in California, my car blows absolutlety no air at all unless I have the circulatory button un-pressed (car symbol with u-turn like arrow) and air comes out as it should but no 'forced' air. So I'm thinking it's the climate control (the one in my car is the electric one). What else could cause this? I just would like to know any other possibilities so I don't go out and spend money that isn't going to fix the issue (I also have to replace the entire exhaust from cat-back as well as both coil springs and struts (one coil is bad and it's shitting through struts). Anyways, any help is appreciated. If I can't figure this out just going to remove the rims/tires and scrap it, anyone in north cali interested PM me, But I would love to keep it, it's a strong lil runner(slow as balllls lol).
Do you not hear anything coming from underneath the dash on the right side? The blower is right behind the glove box. I know mine was clogged with leaves so it wasn't blowing as hard. Check to make sure the climate control is working also. If you look underneath the steering wheel to the right you'll see the semi-clear white boxes with several levers attached. If you move the climate control from cold to hot, this should trigger the gear to move the flaps. Where in California are you? I have an 89 GT also so the climate control should be the same.
Okay, I finally found a hvac unit at a local pick n pull (cant find these things anywhere), heat works as long as it's not set to re-cirulate , so blower motor still isn't turning on or something, a/c also ovbiously doesn't turn on either. what else should I check?? thanks!
