anybody running a fuel cell?

So I've come to a cross road, and my choices are to replace the stock fuel tank with a stock fuel tank. So that's the easiest option. My other alternative would be to opt for a racing fuel cell. Which in a stock celi is kind of pointless. The argument I can make for the upgrade would be that ultimately, with the plans I have for the car I would put a fuel cell in it anyway.

My question concerning the fuel cell... Where's a good place to mount it? I would think the hatch would be the best place. Then I would delete the the filler neck, shave the gas door when I do the body work, and Pop the the hatch to fill the tank o.g. style. Would I be able to use the stock intank assembly or would I need to uprade that stuff as well? So obviosly I will lose practicality points and trunk space, but meh... what the hell.

*Edit* this just occured to me... for the sake of center of gravity maybe the stock location would be the best mointing point. the instalation would be harder and I would have to figure out the refill method.

    Any Input is appreciated:
    Tim

Oh nah, I don't have a vert. I have a gts liftback. I'm just using the vert sig cause I thought it was funny.

and you are right about the center of gravity, I wouldn't want my upgrade to be a downgrade.

I'll probably just go with a stocker, def the easiest.

mostly adding to what mafix already said is the center of gravity thing. I have seen them in some cars where the cell is flush with the trunk keeping the center of gravity low, i'm not sure if you can do that with our cars or not (it would require quite a bit of fabrication work i would imagine), if u cant i would stick with stock. gas is a lot of weight to have too high up.

Yeah if I cut a hole and welded in a pan with like a 1 foot drop to keep the tank low that would be schweet!!! But I don't have the skills or tools to pull that off :(
