bought a wireless antenna for my car and it says to connect the power wire to a positive ground wire. what is that?

First of all, a ground is (-) a power wire is (+) there's no such thing as a positive ground wire :p
It may be possible to use your old antenna harness, but you need to know what wire is what by using a wiring diagram reference. Look in technical, you should find one there. Also, an overall suggestion to you is to buy a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual. It will address and supply technical info to you at your fingertips - just about any auto parts store will have one or both to purchase.

exactly! when i saw the word "positive ground" i was like wtf? and they make a whole bunch of these too. lol. kinda sad. so then, a 12v positive source would just be anything else then right? its really close to the rear side marker. think i can hook it up to that. need to know which is wire positive though.

    probably a typo

Use the ground and the power wire from your old antenna and call it done.

first, the only thing is that the antenna is a hidden one. so its small. second, it only has the ground wire and it says to connect it to a power source. so its funky

Years ago some cars had + earth systems
Nowdays the antenna wire goes to the radio, it's earthed to the chassis and if there's an
amp, then there should be another + wire to the radio.

Where's a pic so we can suss it out?

well, the picture will be up later on today. i figured it out. wired it to the side marker in the back. the only thing is, it only works now if i turn on the lights. at least the parking lights that make the markers turn on. so, that my on and off switch. lol i'm going to have to figure this thing out. maybe hook it up to my break light. there is always constant 12v power going through there. but still not too sure. its safe to say it works now.

ok so sorta fixed the problem and now got another one. the hole. i need to figure out a way to plug it up so water doesnt seep in.

oh yea! when i bought it on ebay, the dude said that it was already amp'ed. the reception is great on it. that is, as soon as i turn on my lights. :D

just wire it to your antenna so it turns on an off with the deck. Besides, you might end up blowing fuses unnecessarily if you use splice off of a random power source.

As for the hole, you could get a rubber grommet plug at a home depot or similar store.

dang, so that means i have to get like a 10 guage wire to be able to run it to the back then huh? the wire itself is kinda short.

You don't need to wire it back there, you could tuck it into the dash or the glove box for that matter. Why I say this is that it sounds like that box is designed to run off a remote/ignition wire like how amps are wired to turn on/off with the deck.

Your radio doesn't have a + amp or antenna wire?

That's the same idea as the std JDM aerial pictured on my car thead,
it doesn't use much power and can go anywhere.
You need to connect to the radio + (usually blue?) or ignition + wire

well, got a new deck. now just have to figure out a way to hook up nicely.
oh, i do have the antenna wire that goes to the back. but i see no amp for it.
