As I'm looking at the parts diagrams I think that I can just take the lateral bars that separates the right-hand and left-hand rails from my 162 seats and place that in between the rails from my 165 seats and they should bolt straight into my 162. Does anyone think that'll work? In theory this should provide the wider stance of a 162 seat and shoudl bolt right into place.

The other thing I'd need to knwo after that is: Will the seat back still attach? I don't know since it would seem that the spring loaded recliner attachment points are now .5-1.0" further apart. What about the seat cushion? Will that bolt in.

Give me a fuckin' head to work on and I'll finish the job........but gimme a fuckin' chair and lost. How does that work? I need some help here.....

    Somebody speak up.

  2. the lateral rails you speak of are welded in place not bolted so you would have to do the same that I mentioned to fit 162 rails into a 165 but the reverse for your application....simplest way is to just swap cushions and leather carcass over to the 162 seat frame assembly.

Thanks for getting back to me. I took a look at mine and found they were held together with c-clips. I saw no welds during my short inspection. I believe I'm going to need the 165 seat back for the motor/side support assembly. What do you suggest for that?
