I'd like to get it posted to the site, but n the meantime, if anyone wants a copy I'll burn it to CD and drop it in the mail. It does not include turbo AWD info - that was a supplemental manual. I also have the WDB, but the pages are multi-page foldouts and my scanner at home can't handle that. I'll see if the ones at work can, but it'll be a while.
Mighty nice of you to do this for us 4th gen'ers. Kudos. I'd take you up on this but I already have my BGB
I have a hanes manual for my car about on inch thick, I wounld't mind having the BGB. How much are shipping charges?
Can't imagine shipping is very much - I'm not gonna worry about it. Just send me an address and I'll drop the disc in the mail. You can make a copy for someone else down the road. Haynes (and Chilton) are good, but the BGB has EVERY part and tons of clear pictures. Plus it refers to parts by the same name you need if calling the dealership for a replacement. Haynes sometimes uses a more generic name that you need to 'translate.' Haynes also goes 86-99, spanning three generations of Celicas. Not a problem for most things, but with the gen specific BGB there's no possible way to confuse which car you're working on.
WILL do! Maybe I can work something out with the guys here and have it posted, not sure what the copywright issues are with this. -K
Oh, there's the regular copyright notice inside the front cover, so I don't recommend standing out in front of a Toyota dealer hawking copies; however, I can't imagine it'd be worth Toyota's time to chase down a few CD burned copies, especially when no money is changing hands and it's a 20-yr manual. C-tech has had BGB's posted for a long time w/o any issues.
How large is the file? Would it be possible to send it using putfile or something like that? I'm keen on a copy, but posting one CD from the US to Oz is probably too much hassle for what its worth
XR - no it's not too much of a hassle. I send stuff to my sister and bro-in-law in Melbourne all the time. Underscore - I'll try; but after downloading a torrent of the updated EPC for damn near four days (I'm on a 5x5 meg HS connection) and then not being able to get it to install, I'm a bit put off by torrent. I'm hoping to hear back from the 4G admin about a FTP site I can post it to so everyone can access it from this site.
try supertorrents.com, it can slow down your internet when you're downloading some of the torrents tracked by them, but shit is it ever fast. If I host it it may not be the fastest d/l with just me but it will be very consistant, no more than an hour or so downtime every few days max. If you can't get it to install someting probably went wrong with the cracking process, depends on what you downloaded.
Kiasis, thanks for the offer I'll follow this up after my HSC exams (finish early November). I'll get a CD sent over to me and then I can send it to any other aussies that want it.
ill have a copy of the bgb if it is download able but otherwise, no thanks for the cd option as im quite far away.
Sprey16 - I"m sending a CD to Australia. You further away than that? I'd love to get it posted to the site for all to use, if someone gives me an FTP or whoever manages the site tells me where to send the CD.
