Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* heres a pic of her. lets see if you can guess which is the ex and which is the current haha
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* haha thanks. update on the progress today. made bracket to mount fuse box onto strut tower. bead blasted evo 9 fmic and painted silver mounted stock horns painted heat shields painted maf removed bumper and chopped off fog light brackets chopped off center of lower grill ...mostly all misc things. tomorrow or whenever i have time i plan to... mount msd blaster coil make custom battery mounts for the trunk
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* actually the bumper is practically untouched. all i did to it was cut the fog light brackets off. it fits like a glove. whats needed to do an evo 9 fmic on a st165 is remove all ac components especially the condensor. remove the center bar holding the horns and build your own bracket tying it to the bumper support. pic of the support i made is in the pic above the intercooler. i also made some brackets to hold the intercooler. i also had to use slim pusher fans in front of the radiator. i'll take more pics of it later. just let me know what else you want me to take a picture of
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* so an evo 9 fmic is practically a bolt on given you make your own brackets and remove ac? or did the pipes have to be cut to length etc.
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* the evo 9 fmic fits great but piping needs to be fabbed up. i also have the 3sge intake manifold and turbo clocked which makes routing the pipe much easier and less piping. i do recommend buying a universal intercooler pipe kit which has various bends so you can cut and weld. the intercooler itself fits great given you make the bracket i talked about for the hood latch. w/o it the hood won't close. the custom brackets i made to mount the intercooler to the radiator support on the bottom is actually 3" of straight thick steel plates mounted to the radiator support via stock holes on one end. the other end is bolted to the intercooler brackets. a little ghetto but does its job.
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* it doesn't look bad at all. almost looks like it's supposed to be there.
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* update for today 9-18. mounted coil (ghetto but its on) mounted and ran power steering cooler lines all intercooler pipes are on and clamped bov mounted and vacuum lines ran fixed most of the vacuum hoses need to be done... fix up vacuum lines clean up engine bay wiring install intake run pcv lines does anyone know what the pcv line runs from? i know its from the valve cover to where? also, where does the iac air line go to? soon the monster will live
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* car runs! but.... battery not charging, smal coolant leak, exhaust leak :|
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* allright, not really much of an update since last due to some outfall i had w/ the now current ex gf. now i have all that stuff put behind me and a new girl  more updates will follow. project trac star will be in full effect after some legal issues.
Re: 88 alltrac *pics are up* haven't really updated in a while. a lot has been fixed and done so i'll start listing interior put into vehicle charging system fixed gutted cat fuel injectors will be put in as soon as they arrive hooked up manual boost controller so basically the car is ready to be put back onto the road. will post pics as soon as it is completed. it should be by this coming weekend. aloha
