Well I have some questions about a 2nd gen 3sge I look everywhere for accurate specs but it's Allways different . I got 156hp at 6600 Rpms 138tq at 4800 with a 7200 rev limit Now the jdm 1st gen has 150 -160 hp And little torque and it just doesn't make sence .. Did they just redesign the 3sge for the lack of torque?? Or is there more power to I've seen some sites saying 170 hp for the 2nd gen but that's what I thought the 3rd gen Has . I usually take wikipedias word for it but I still Want accurate specs Thnx
i believe that jdm 2nd gens are at 164-170hp, jdm 3rd gen make 180hp everywhere else it makes 170hp due to egr.
check this site out all the spec's for all gen's are there hope that this answer's your question Toyota Celica - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Looks like the spec sheet I posted has gone, GE approx figures - Gen1 JDM - 160HP Gen2 JDM - 180HP Gen3 JDM - 200HP For EGR version subtract 20HP
be aware the USDM, JDM, EUDM all have different specs due to government regulations on environmental issues. In Europe it is : Gen 1 without Cat 156 (only late 1985 + 1986 models) Gen 1 with Cat 146 Gen 2 156 Gen 3 175
it's quite disturbing how many differences there are, but I think the USDM are the ones with least HP as not only emission things should be on and USA drives with the worst quality of petrol.... Here the worst (standard) Octane is 95 .... I always use 98 or 100 . What's the octane nr in USA, somewhere in the 80's ??
we in south africa use 93/95 inland and the highest I have ever seen was 98 by the coast 100 octane thats strong fuel we used that type of fuel for racing but can't find that on our petrol pump's I wished we that around here.
octane 87, but I think we use a different system. I think it's like you guys use RON or something like that. I think our octane 87 is equivalent to your 91 or something.
yes, we use a different measuring system. ron+mon/2 (iirc), everywhere else just uses the ron #. however iirc our midgrade is equivalant to everyone else's regular, so in escence they have one grade higher available. -my guess is that since its MUCH more expensive to get liscensed and maintain a vehicle overseas thats why they get the higher output cars and hence a higher grade fuel.
In aus we have 91, 95 and 98 octane, i usually go 98 as 91 makes me ping up hills. UK 3sge specs This is from an Australian MR2 forum http://www.mr2forum.org/forum/index.php?/topic/590-sw20-generations/ Post #7
Those look like OZ specs Andrew, all the injector sizes are wrong too Go to the depot in Alrode, you can buy anything including methanol. There was a garage on Jules str that sold 100 octane from the coast for many years but it closed down when the ANC turned JHB into a taxi rank.
Yep injectors are pink and does auto make a difference?? In hp because I noticed 3rd gen auto has 177 my 2nd gen is from Jdm st182 gtr with tems and 4ws Automatic so did Toyota also make gen 2 auto a better motor??
