Hello. I'm pretty curious about this. Every 3sGE engine i've seen online has a silver coloured top (gen 1 in particular) but i have seen some other engines with a gold top (original of course) and i'm wondering if there is any difference between these or if it's just an option to buy it in a different colour?

Hi thanks for the link. I was actually reffering to that one post. as i do own the "Golden" one and just wanted to know the differences https://youtu.be/e5p27mnMOnU this is mine
The original REV1 unit in my UK 1987 car had the gold covers.I also noticed in that thread it mentions the plastic alternator cover, ive only seen one before over here and that was on Adys facelifted UK 1988 car.Its possible that garages may have done belt/alternator replacements and not refitted them, but you would assume thats not in every case and you'd see more of them.Any of you guys have one on your cars out of interest?
