Hey there! I have the 2selc engine. I want to swap in a 3sge So I have the option of buying a 3sge that comes with the engine, transmission, the ECU, the wiring harness, distributor, alternator, starter, a/c compressor, power steering pump, intake and exhaust manifold, down pipe, throttle body, spark plugs, clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. My question is, would I have to use different axels? Or anything else that I would have to replace? That why I can do an estimate of how much it will cost. Thanks. Anyone swap their 2selc for another of the s engines?
I'm building an '86 Celica GT that came equipped with the 2SE engine, and yes you need to basically remove everything 2SE related for this swap. You will need everything you mentioned plus drive axels, hubs and might as well plan on the four wheel disc upgrade while you're at it. You could possibly get by with your 4x100mm hub assemblies, but check to make sure the splines on your half-shafts will fit, it is a lot easier to find 4x100 wheels these days! The only draw-back without doing the four wheels disc conversion, is your stuck with rear drums and 3SGE power. racerb
Alright Yeah! Got it. So change the drive axels... That's pretty much it right ahhh and the exhaust manifold is different. So I might need to prepare for that. i was planning on getting the entire wheel assembly from another gts that includes the hub assembly for front and rear (to have disk brake on the rear). And also so I can get the original 14 inch wheels of a gts (5 lugs) I took off my old 13 inch wheels out and replaced them with 86 Mr2 14" wheel XD
