These are some small mods you can do to your 2s-e celica to make it more fun to drive

There comes a point when you would be better off swapping a 3sge in because its a much better engie design

Intake-you need to design your own. cold air intake with a pod filter(larger area) is the best design due to the fact that its away from the heat created by the engine but you can get the same effect on a short ram intake by heat shielding the pod filter. a smaller

exhaust-no exhausts aftermarket ones available so you have to design your own. The stock 2se is ridicoulsly small it would be a good boost just to go upgrade to the stock gts. For designing your own go for around 2.25" and acoomadate a muffler/resonator to your liking

cylinder head-I have absoultly no idea what you can do besides regrinding your stock cam. You might be able to use performance 22r valve springs and retainers but i have no experience with this. If you can find mechanical lifters out of a 1s or 2s-c this would be a great upgrade if your going to regrind your cam.

TECHNICALLY you can swap a 3s-ge head on a 2s block but you would also need besides the 3sge cyl. head, timing, manifolds etc. a 3sge wiring harness and ecu. You would also probably need new pistons because 2se is a non crossflow engine and a 3sge is a crossflow. possible candidates are boring your block out .50mm and putting in zetec pistons. Sticking with the stock bore if you find yourself some b20 pistons or maybe if you would get 4 4gr pistons in 1mm o/s. Does anyone know if this would work?

ìt will be cheaper to get a 3sge than build one... i swear

ya i know that its hard to find them out here. if i wouldnt be able to find one i would rebuild my blown 3sge and machine the crank or get a 5sfe bottom end and put 3sge pistons and cyl. head on it.

    Does not compute?

    1) 2S, 4S and 5S share the same stroke
    2) The rods and flywheel bolts aren't up to serious modding
    3) Honda, Zetec or Evo pistons are damn expensive
    4) Parts, spares?

Agreed, cheaper to fit a 3S-GE or 5S-FE but for the purist you could start with the basics.
Custom exhaust, porting, compression, cut cam etc

you will need to modify the head abit to get some of the water jackets to line up, like what you need to do when you swap a 3sge head onto a 5sfe block

you should modify a MR2 header from a 3sge... that might work?

the flange on a 2se is totally different then a 3sge so i would still need a different flange so i might as well go custom.

I cant afford a 3sge at this time, I will be saving up for a 3sge after i get my celica saftied.
