My cousin has a circle track car with 2se ( needs this motor for class specs) It is an auto tranny. He would like to maybe make it 5spd. What trannys will bolt up to this motor?
Thanx. Do you think the gear ratios of the 3sge tranny would be good for circle track? He would probably use 2nd and 3rd.
What size of track does he run on? I run a 3sge tranny on the 3/8 mile track that I race at. I am currently looking to swap to a 3sfe tranny because of the higher final drive it has. It would depend a lot on the size of the track and the speed of the car. Generally I don't shift at all once I am going at race speed. It just stays in third unless I have to slow down a lot. And that's driving at a speed of around 90km/h in the corners, and up to 120km/h at the end of the straight approxiamtely. That's usually the preferred method since you can save wear on the clutch, and time shifting. Trust me, he'll like a 5spd. Nobody runs autos in the class I race in, too much power loss.
