I've moved back across country and can't take my st-162 with me because of California emissions. I figured I should let you guys know about it.

    - Silver
    - hatch back
    - 5-speed manual / stick
    - Black/Gray interior with replaced Blue seats
    - 146,000ish miles on body
    - about 1500 miles since full engine rebuild (with receipts)
    - 2.0 3sge engine
    - "Fully loaded" all options

    Features:
    - California Car! I brought it out in 2013, almost no rust (super clean under body)
    - Power window & Locks
    - Sunroof
    - Heated rear view mirrors (melts ice)
    - Cruise control
    - AC equipped but not working (see below)
    - Alpine head unit
    - Sirius satellite radio hardwired in (subscription required. You have to bug them for it but they have a cheap version with no talk radio.)
    - Kicker speakers
    - Pioneer amp and Eclipse sub

The 4 Gen Celica GTS was the only car to come to North America with the 3SGE engine (not to be mistaken for the 3SGTE which came in the Alltrac Celicas and 2nd gen MR2 turbos).
New in the last 2 years (I have receipts unless noted) :

    - full engine rebuild
    - power Steering rack and high pressure lines
    - vacuum lines replaced with black silicone
    - oxygen senor
    - front ball joints and tie rod ends
    - axles
    - battery
    - used UKDM 2nd gen 3sge exhaust manifold
    - React Downpipe
    - Craigslist rebuilt transmission with 15,000 miles on it. No receipt obviously. The old transmission had very bad 5th gear pop out and this new one has doesn't have it at all. I'm happy with it, you'll feel it on the test drive.
    - New tires about 7000 miles ago. no receipt for these

Uninstalled parts that will likely come with the car (depending on how close I get to my asking price):

    - full front windshield trim set (this will come with the car no matter what)
    - UKDM/JDM front corner lights/with headlight washer setup including full tank/pump/interior switch.
    - Factory UKDM fog light switch
    - uncracked front "Celica" trim piece
    - Lowering springs from Australia (spacing on the brand atm) specifically for the st-162 Celica

    Problems:

The car is 29 years old and isn't perfect. I didn't have time to attend to all that I wanted to before selling the car. These are what I know are wrong.

    - It has the common HVAC controller issue that these had where the solders on the back of the unit go. You can take it out and there is a guy who fixes them or if you can solder fix it yourself. Because of this I've got the HVAC system rigged to be on hot all the time, with the ability to turn everything off still working. This is definitely part of the reason the AC does not work, I do not know if it is all of it.

    - The front washer fluid squinter stopped working during the engine swap. I suspect either something is stuck in the hose, or the fluid evaporated leaving a residue that jammed the squinter motor (happened to my 87 MR2)

    - The 3rd brake light does not work. Ironically the sensor for it fails and causes it not to function. It can be bypassed but is behind the side panel by the drivers side back seat which I never got around to taking off.

    - The center console is loose

    - There is a bit of rust on the sunroof.

I brought this car back with me from California in 2013 with plans of cleaning up and using as a fun, stock, commuter. It blew a ring soon after getting to CT and I had it rebuilt at Northeast Auto Machine LLC. While the engine was out I replaced, the power steering rack, and high pressure lines PS while there were easy to get to. The exhaust manifold had a hair line crack in it and there are no more un-cracked (common problem) stock Gen 1 3SGE manifolds left in North America. So because stock 2nd Gen 3SGE manifolds bolt right up I grabbed one along with a React Downpipe (different collector style from gen 1, needed to connect to the rest of the system). There is not egr port on the 2nd gen manifold so that system has been deleted along with the cat since the car is emission exempt in CT. I'm sure I've done other small things to the car which are escaping me at the moment.

The reason I'm selling it is I got a sudden temp job opportunity back in CA a few months ago and it just became permanent so I won't be coming back to CT. Between the cost of bringing the car back, and the fact that CA has a fixed emissions exempt year of 1975 (guaranteeing the car will fail CA smog), and that the car is much rarer back in New England it just makes sense to leave it back there.

Please feel free to e-mail or text me questions. If you call you'll most likely need to leave a message. I can get you the vin if you'd like too.
