Hey im new here and this is my car.

Is an 1988 Celica All Trac that i picked up at the end of June and only has about 97k. I paid 4,500 for it which is a bit much but it was in such good condition and i feel in love with the car right away. Only mechanical fault with the car was that it had a power steering leak and it didn't look to major so i haven't worried about it.

I bought it to use as a daily driver, but now i realize how much potential this car has. I would still use it as a DD but im formulating an upgrade plan to the car to make it handle tighter on curves and be just a bit faster overall. Im still new to car tuning so im hoping you guys can help me out. :D

    And now the Pics

I was just amazed on the condition of the interior, that a car as old as this could still look as good as it does. Well anyway thats my ride.

Get a new shift knob and you're golden :p

I'm laughing on the inside that you have the stock radio... does it still work?

Haha yeah and its clear, since its in great shape ive decided to leave it in. My firends give me crap about it all the time because i use a cassette/MP3 converter so the cassette icon is constantly blinking while it rotates. I think its awesome! :D

that is the sex! the stock deck is so ballin haha the best part is you never have to worry about it being stolen, and car thieves are too dumb to know what an Alltrac is.

for the shift knob at least rip off whats left of the cover for now, it won't slide around so much and it'll look nicer. It will get a bit hot in the summer though.

    Lovely.

I used to have that deck in my first Celica, but it smelled heavily of ozone and didn't work very well...

    Great looking Trac

Thanks everyone, its funny how three of the five comments had to do with the stock radio :)

A friend of mine lives up in west lafayette, Indiana and claims to have seen a black st165, could this be a member or has anyone see this car?

Get rid of that stock radio and go Alpine man, you won't regret it! If you get a Alpine M-bus deck, I'll make you a aux cable for the mp3 player! :D

Hehe, I have the same factory deck in my 165 so I don't have to worry about anyone ripping it off.

    Exactly 8)

A stock setup gets much less attention and besides it works so ive got no reason to spend cash on something that ant' broke. Ive looked at maybe seven FC3S and everyone of them that had some sort of aftermarket head unit had theft damage to the doors. I also think it looks good with the interior, and all the dials/pannels that flash and light up are just a cool feature. :)

Besides at the moment im spending my time and money on repairing the issues that are cropping up with the car and saving up/researching for future upgrades.

    Repair List:
Same three warning lights keep coming on
Clutch master was replaced but feels weak to the pedal
Too much free play on steering wheel
Power Steering leak has gotten worse
Identifying every squeak, hiss, and rattle i hear in the car

Not really major but since im going to use it as a really fun DD, I want to make sure its in top shape before i consider anything custom.
