this is just my daily driver! im in the process of doing a full rebuild on a VH SLE commodore with turbo 202 :)

please excuse my ignorance with some of these details, im a holden boy in a toyota world :p

    Body:
    1986 ST162 ST celica coupe
resprayed in acrylic supra red (or something lol)

    Interior:
    stock ST luxury!
    VDO head unit
    5 1/4" focal splits
    kenwood 4x75rms
jaycar 2x150rms response amp (older style)
    jaycar 15" venom sub
    stinger 4awg wiring n shiz

    Engine:
    stock 3SFE
    blown head gasket
    cracked head lol
full exhaust with extractors on the way
upgraded induction and CAI also on the way

    Drivetrain:
    no idea?
    5spd manual!

    Susp:
    stock!
    lowered springs on the way

    Brakes:
    stock :(

    Wheels:
    more stock!
    upgrades on the way

basically bought the car yesterday fr $800, the guy i bought it off didnt hook up the thermo and the dash is dull so i couldnt see the temp gauge. so it overheated. blew the heater core in the cabin, and suspect cracked head and blown head gasket. also melted the plastic extensions on the leads into the spark plug tower lol
didnt even get to wash it :(
so i added the stereo gear and am debating a 3SGE conversion next weekend.

well sourced an engine from a self serve wreckers nearby for $100 :)
gave the interior a mad clean and it came up like new, apart from the stains in the seats and some cracks in the door trims lol
all will be replaced in time
the car is in desperate need of a cut and polish which ill attend to next weekend
and while i was out yesterday someone kindly reversed into me :(

its good to see a few aussies and get some love for an aussie car on an american site :D
i bought some 15" rims for it yesterday, nothing too outrageous, but should suit the look of the celica when its dumped on its ass

the car will be getting a good cut n polish this weekend ;)
    should come up alright
and the engines coming out this weekend
also goot some extractors for it and am on the hunt for an exhaust!

i see what you mean about the rusted exhaust now haha nice vh btw just need to tint the windows, put on a few stickers do a 5 speed conversion using a celica box and whack in a LSD

    misk Guest

yeh the exhaust has a few holes for extra flow :p
luckily the VH already has a VL turbo LSD in it :) and a built 2speed powerglide, a celica box wouldnt last too long with what im planning lol
ill put up a thread on it in the other section before i go to bed

whats everyones thoughts on a kit or sx spoiler for the celica?

thats real nice what ratio is it ?

coreect me if im wrong anyone but im pretty sure our celicas has a 4.19 ratio diff/transaxle?

powerglides are probably even better, well more fun..my mate has a slr torana with powerglide box, lsd and VS 5 litre and a 3 inch pipe....loads of fun!

the VLT lsd is 3.7, which is almost perfect with the glide, but im wanting 3.9s and a 4500 stall, then itl be fun ;)

that slr would fukn hammer! theyve always been mad for a conversion just like that

i read somewhere that our celicas have a fairly high ratio, but atm im a fair noob with details like that lol
im liking them more with the more i learn about them though
im stingin to do a 3sge conversion, but as you can see in my commodore thread, that saps most of my funds hehe

yeah you could pick up a 3sge pretty cheap, i am on my 3rd 3sge. cost me $1000 supplied and fitted for the second one and third was under warranty ;)

Get the rims on already and cut and polish the thing!

lol its dark when i get home everynight, and need to fit some tyres to the rims.
    also im broke :p
all this adds up to not much progress during the week
on the weekend ill try and get the cut and polish done, but my main objective will be to pull the engine and gearbox
    fun shit

well had a go at a quick cut and polih on the boot, roof and bonnet. the roof and boot came up nice, but the bonnet paint is fair thrashed lol.
the sides of the car should come up alright when i get around to it, but i might take it to a pro and ask them to do their best as i cbf buffing lol.
