162 and 165 Distributors

    162 and 165 Distributors:
    I know the caps and rotors are the same and interchangeable, but is the rest of it
    swappable?

    since when are those the same? There is a difference in the cap.

    When I took the caps and rotors off my 162 and 165 and compared them, they looked identical. Even the stamped number on the inside of the cap is the same.
    I haven't confirmed this with Toyota though.

    So Toyota lists 2 different part numbers for the 3SGE cap and 3SGTE cap (PN#19101-88380). However, when you compare them, they are identical in every way - externally. I may have to actually swap them and see if the cars will run. (I believe they will.) Same goes for the OEM rotor (PN#19102-73021).

    might be something slight like metal material or plastic thinkness or the like.

    Let us know your findings, i have an New cap i was going to put on my 3S-GE but now that i upgraded it would be happy throing it on the 3S-GTE
