probably 6.5 inches is about 165mm across what is your stock tire width?

While you're at it, don't forget to check the center bore and offset too.

sweet and yeah its pretty crazy however my door card said 205 60 R14 tires was the stock size... not sure about that my spare tires and steelies that came off a 1989 celica gts at the junk yard are 185's thats like 7.2 inches lol and the door card on that car said 185 60 R14 was the stock... so im kinda confused maybe there is a dif between rims and steelies i know mine came with alloy rims back in 1989... but yes 17x8 inches is big hehe lol i basicly have no tires lol!

the reason the tires that came with your car are 185x60xr14 is bec ause its hard to find a 205x60xR14 rubber, or so i have found. although 185 is pretty narrow, i use 195x60xR14 for the winter on a Stock rim

I also run 205x40xR17 rubber on my 17"x7" rims, and would not suggest ever going bigger then a 16"x7" rim as 40mm sidewall is not enough for daily driving.

my car used to have 215x60xR14 in the back. i liked the look of the added width but 215's wont fit in the front without rubbing

also i believe all 4g celicas have 14"x6.5" rims 205x60xR14 rubber stock

The stock rims i had on Pinky had 175/70/r13 on them.
    I think they are 13x5 1/2

I am currently using on my marron celica 17x7 running 205/40 on the front and 205/45 on the rear (came with the car when i bought it) And i'm not sure of the offset but they do scrub when taking corners a bit hard.
If i find out the offset i shall let you know so it may be able to help you with what offset not to get lol.

yeah i figured but my celica also came with 205x40R17 tires, and i would have to agree 40mm side wall is way to small for a daily im always worried i have popped a tire again when i hit a big pot holes.

damn you scrub? i never do ill find my offset for you and let you know

it should be written on a sticker card on the drivers side door.

and nor do i but now i have too thats how i was caught speeding... comming around a corner

Yer unfortunately i scrub but only at the front.
205/60/R14 can be easy to find here as i am able to get 235 225 215 /60 in 14's for my ma61 rims but it's the price once i get to 215 as the cheap brands stop at 195 have a look on this site it's in Aus but they are pretty helpful and good.
www.antiquetyres.com.au and if they don't have your size just ask them if they are able to get them.
They may deal with overseas or be able to help you find a dealer near you.
