ok wtf is going on. my o2 sensor is near teh top of the heatshield (heatshield has a hole in it to accompany it. but ive seen 2 others ge's lately with a different heatshield...what the fuck!? is it cause mine is the very beginner 86 ge? if so where are they on yours? this pic was from the engine post
On my old celica (89 gt-s) It had a four wire o2 sensor on the down pipe, near the bottom by the crossmember.
86 and 87 had the o2 sensor just off the manifold....in the heat shield 88 and 89 have it down below near the flex pipe
yep thats right....i dont know why they changed it thou? Is it better if its on the manifold...or way down by the flew pipe?
How do you know if you have a jdm or a usdm? lol the only thing I really know about my engine is that its a 3SGE
well the JDM engine has only 1 vacuum line off the top of the throttle body, USDM has 3. there is an EGR pipe running off of the USDM manifold back towards the firewall, whereas the JDM doesn't have one. the 86-87 USDM's had a one wire O2 sensor, as did all the JDM ones. The 88-89 USDM's had a 4 wire O2
