It's been a long time, but I finally got it on the road!

    The final list has been:
    Rear subframe
    Oil pan hammered out
    Rear wheel bearings
    Front corner lights
Front body frame areas were straight enough according to a different shop, but it failed because of the welds as seen above. Stripped the welds down, rewelded, painted, rust coated, and it was good enough.

So I treated the car to a set of FRS TRD RS2.0 wheels and a 3" exhaust is on the way in the mail!

So I bought an XSpower st165/st185 3" catback to replace the whole deal. Now it sounds super nice. It has a deep tone at idle and below 3k rpm, above that it growls at you. Very similar to the factory mr2 turbo exhaust so it's still very much oem-sounding as well as oem-looking.

Some areas will need massaging: under oil pan, under footwell, above rear subframe. Otherwise, very impressed.

Those exhaust systems go on sale every once in a while. Looks great! How long did it take you to install?

it took me about an hour to remove the old exhaust (i had already cracked them loose at work on a hoist then retightened to drive home).
it took about another hour and a half to put the new one on.

Took the car up to Whistler BC for a trip this past weekend. Tons of fun and tons of grip! WhatsApp Image 2017-12-21 at 2.21.53 PM.jpeg WhatsApp Image 2017-12-21 at 2.22.06 PM.jpeg WhatsApp Image 2017-12-21 at 2.22.19 PM.jpeg

The ol' rear window leak and water in the rear speaker! I gotta seal up my windows too. I'm sure I've got the same thing going on (again). Looks like you got a litre of water outta there!

Good job on the speakers Marc...you're lucky that the spare tire well didn't rust out like mine.

Wish I had ordered the cat back exhaust while they were cheap and plentiful on ebay.
Now I can only find two retailers:
    US $375 SS Autochrome
    US $450 XS Power

Very nice choice with the FRS wheels.

I have just fitted very similar wheels from an Australian delivered 2012 Toyota 86 GT (16").

Did you use spacers to fit your wheels? With extended wheel studs?
