So on the coolant neck there are a number of sensors...my question is whether the Coolant Temp Sensor that is next to the Cold Start Inj temp sensor are the same part. Can i replace the Cold Start Inj sensor with another Coolant Temp Sensor?
no and no i might be getting the colors mixed up but the coolant temp sensor is a green two pin plug that sends coolant temp information to the ECU while the cold start switch is a brown two pin plug that closes when the coolant is warm enough. also the cold start switch has a heater element that speeds up the closing of the circuit so it's completely different from the coolant temp sensor.
So, with the problem I'm having, the cold start injector on the intake isn't the problem, there is another cold start sensor? I'll have to get the BGB out. I changed the injector itself and it didn't help...
in the coolant neck, there's a sensor that has two pins to it, one to the ECU, one to the cold start injector itself basically, the sensor tells the ecu to make the mix rich and the cold start injector to fire. the sensor is also responsible for turning off the cold start injector as between the two pins, there's a heater element that heats up just after the car starts.
Never mind. I see the Stig comes through again in Scott's thread. Scott, if you read this, that is a GE water neck, the GTE neck is I believe, different.
