Well my celica has recently started knocking I think....The sound is definitely coming from the engine....I dont notice it until around 2500 rpms and it just gets worse as it gets higher....I also dont notice the sound when engine braking....I have no clue what it is if it's not a knock....anyway if you are in the Puget Sound/Oregon/California area please let me know if you know of any other running 162's in decent shape....I really want another Celica.....Just not a convertible this time!!!
I hope that's not the cause, try listening to the bottom end of the engine and see if the sounds are coming from there. There is actually a tool to help determin that but can't remember the name at the moment
Theres an ugly brown one witg a good running 3sfe manny in it for 850 but im sure u could get it for 5 cash....swap em...been on craigslist for a bit due to uglyness..lol

Well I am officially not a ST162 owner anymore....She finally crapped out on me. but luckily I was able to sell her the same day for $300. considering the fact that i only paid 90 for the car I think i got a great deal! lol I'm currently looking a couple other hatchback celica's one is a 88 alltrac for 5500 with 120k Miles...Is the price right?
