Ok guys so im new to this forum and to the world of modding st162's. What i would like to know is should i go for a 2nd gen or 3rd gen 3sgte? and how much would i be up for one of these? and where abouts in australia would i be able to find one with the least amount of km's or am i better importing from japan or something wierd like that?!
theresalot of people, myself inclded doinga turbo swap into their celi's theres alot of resources on here to find out just wahat you will need. have a look around, but in short you will need, enigne, harness, ecu, a c-52, s-53, s-54 trannie and corrosponding drive axles, different exhaust, (cause of the turbo) better dual core rad is a really good idea. depending on the features of the engine, (ac, cruise ect. . .) you may need to mess with some wiring, the tmic rad and pump, gte fuel pump, and some misc little things. . .
im running a usdm 165, with a jdm turbo, intake, and sensors, with an s-53 trannie with a swapped c-52 bellhousing to clear the starter. check it out in the rides, under "courtney, like no other"
well i found a gen 3 3sgte at the wreckers, the engine looks to be ifne but he has no idea at all on how many km's are on the car, or any history on the motor at all, so i dont think its worth buying as there is no history on it. But i think im going to look for a reconditioned engine although there is an st162 for sale here in aus with a twin turbo system setup
yea for sure alman, i found it on carsales.com.au its not registered and he doesnt have an engineers cert, but its less than 5000, its worth a look i say
Twin entry turbo, Its just a factory fitted turbo, nothing special. From the photos the install looks a bit rough, but alright for 5K I guess.. - simplified by GT2,
if you ask me twin entry turbo' s are useless. they are like the tvis of the toyota turbo. only one butterfly in the turbo is open at low rpms, then both at wot. not the best idea, he said she has a set of pistons, all around if teh car is capable of passing the safety then its not too bad. that engine came out of an rc too, not the easiest thing to find this side of the pond. oh and to answer your question, those factory auto trannies take a hell of a beating.. i proved that in my old gt-
so i have found a gen 2 3sgte with 114,000kms on the clock the full kit cpu.. blah blah you know the stuff, for $2200
remember i am in australia, and for the actual celica gt4 in which they come out of, for one with that amount of k's would still go for around 7000 - 10,000
