I did an engine swap on my Celica... it was a 3S-FE (I read that instruction sticker under the hood) How do I check what engine we swaped in? My friends and I did the engine swap, put it in but I don't know what type of engine it was. All we knew is that they were the same year and they looked the same ^^ pretty awesome eh? This is what I know: The wiring harness was different from the 3S-FE The replacement engine was from a 1989 Celica hatchback "SE" The REPLACED engine was 1989 Celica hatchback "GT" Could I possibly have a 3S-GE?
Heres the latest pics of my car: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2973879 ECU is the computer for the engine right? If it is, then yes we changed that, looks something like this? http://www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk/Toyota%20Celica.jpg <-- not a pic of mine, found it on the net Leme know if that helps you help me =D
Sooo, even know we had to sqitch the wiring harnesses its the same type of engine that was in there? It wouldnt turn over without the different harness
could not tell ya it may be from a damaged harness while you were doing the swap or perhaps you guys missed something that you found when you plugged it in. or perhaps you had a rare Cali car.
just noticed you have an 89. that is the only year that there may have been the updated computer. perhaps that was your issue.
Ohhh, I was unaware of that... cool. Thanks =D The 3S-FE has... 114hp ish? Does my magnaflow exhaust add any more hp?
not as much as you'd like. a conical filter, 2.25 pipes (which it sounds like you have), and a header and that's it for that motor.
