Like it says it's not the Celica, but it is my other Toyota, my 2010 Yaris that I'm Auto-Xing these days. I'm building the car up to run in the STF (Street Tire Front Wheel Drive) class and have done very little mods so far. I have ordered a complete suspension set up, including Tokico HP (Blue struts/shocks), TRD Lowering Springs, crash bolts for caber adjustment, Ultra-Racing strut tower brace, Hawk HPS pads, Stop Tech SS brake lines, ATE Super Blue brake fluid, and Kumho XS 205/50/15 tires. I have already added a UR 23mm rear swaybar and I'm looking at an Injen cold-air intake and a DC race header. Here is the results from our last event and a few pictures also.... http://www.auto-x.com/results/2013/dixie_classic_event_5 -_fin.htm http://www.flickr.com/photos/macshome/9289833654/in/set-72157634645688866 http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/V...13/DSC_0321_zps37976fd3.jpg.html?sort=3&o=152 racerb :driving
awsome list for sure... Do you have a link to a thread you might have on the yaris fourms? I'd like to keep up with the science:science
The forum is www.yarisworld.com and you'll see several people on there who Auto-X and Road Race their Yaris's. racerb :driving
New Kumhos came in, will mount them up tomorrow. The TRD springs arrived this morning, now just waiting on the struts/shocks and the brake lines...... racerb
Well kinda surprised myself actually finishing better than expected, 3rd out of 4 in STF, as the new tires got a little quicker with every run. Still awaiting my suspension parts, so there will be more updates to come, but here are yesterdays results. What was really strange, we all turned our fastest run at the very last....... http://www.ncrscca.com/sites/default/files/results/solo/2013/03_schools_out_blackwater_fin.htm#STF racerb :corsair
Pics from the weekend Auto-X, just scroll through them, besides my Yaris there's like 1,500 photos from the Event, enjoy........ https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...9.140658685998841&type=3&l=c534bb2f2a&theater racerb :corsair
that must be hard to run in. stf is fairly competitive up here. almost as bad as stu and stx. good job keeping in in there!
Car is actually pretty competitive as it was, can't wait to get it back out now cause I've installed my new Tokico HP struts/shocks and TRD springs. I'm still waiting on my strut tower brace and stainless brake lines, so I can switch over to the Hawk HPS pads and ATE Super Blue fluid. The new Kumho XS tires worked great at the last event and got better with every run, even with a worn out suspension. I think this car has a real chance of being very competitive in this class, just gotta catch up to the others when it comes to mods! racerb :driving
Only got some of my mods finished on the Yaris, namely struts/shocks and spring prior to another Auto-X over the weekend. Finished second, but I'm still quite a bit behind the leading STF car in our region, a Mazda2 which is fairly well prepared. Just like the Celica, I've got lots of plans for the Yaris to try for a more competitive chassis....... http://www.ncrscca.com/sites/default/files/results/solo/2013/06_sea_devils_blackwater_fin.htm racerb :study
