Anyone out there feel like posting me some information about a decent weight reduction for my coupe? I want to keep my A/C for the summer... I herd that is one thing you could remove... but is there much else?

Lose the interior, expecially the driver's seat which is real heavy!

Use lightener wheels, lose spare tyre.

I assume you just want to make the best out of what you have with no motor swap, so you want to loose weight. Front seat swaps, rear seat removal, spair tire removal, lighter rims/tires, custom made CF hood or 'glass hood/trunk. possibly a fuel cell conversion? I can't really think anything else, but you'd loose a few hundred.

I personally don't see that as a viable option for me - just all of that alone the cost would be > or = to a ge swap and maybe close to 1/2 what a gte swap would cost so it would be a waste of $ for little gain. Mafix has done all of this, he'll probably chime in with his personal experience with the fe platform.

that and you have a vert kevin. weight loss it kinda poinless in a vert
interior removel and sound deading material removal will be a couple hundred
front seat swap save about 100
don't use a fuel cell. the factory gas tank is placed perfectly for balance
    a/c removal about 60
swapping to lighter wheels...i think yours shouldn't be that heavy so no worries there
lose the stereo stuff - weight varies

    ^ good points, thanks!

I swear I read somewhere a ge in itself was lighter than the fe by a couple hundred, is that true?

I don't see how that would work. The GE and FE share the same iron block, which is where most of the weight comes from, but the GE has a physically larger head because it's a true twin-cam. Plus I think the intake mani/exhaust mani may be a bit larger than the FE as well. All in all I would think the GE would weigh more than the FE, but the difference is probably negligable.

i'd say the GE has about 30-40 lbs on the fe motor.

 ok sorry guys, I think I know where I was lead astray. I was looking at weights on a JDM importer site. I assumed the GE was just lighter due to their listings, but I bet there was missing parts where it made the GE seem lighter than the FE.

As for Black Shelf and the weight issue, you have me 1-uped to start, since the coupe is supposidly lighter than 'verts and hatchbacks so I'd assume weight reduction would be more effective/noticeable for you as opposed others that have a different model.

yea but then the power of the ge makes up for the weight in my opinion.
