-it just makes it so the engine doesnt bog when your at full turn, like in a parking lot. mines gone. couldnt buy a replacement so i ditched all the piping and capped all the feeds.

Yes, the p/s valve only opens at full lock.
If you can blow through yours it's faulty, I've removed the pipes and idle dropped 500rpm

Sorry for the thread necro, but I find this very interesting. I've tried just about everything I can to get my cold idle down as it's always been high ever since I had the ST202 conversion done over 6 years ago.

I've been through literally everything else that can be thought of (TPS, ISCV motor and later on FULL ISCV from Mr. T (ouch), thermoswitch, other coolant tap switches and sensors, you name it), and one of my last possibilities was vacuum leak or incorrect feed somewhere. Now I read that the P/S VSV (which I replaced before the engine went in) might be stuffed, so I'll try that when I get a chance to see if it's faulty, and if so, block the pipes and delete the hoses that run down to it as necessary, right?

That was it before it got most of the work done to it and dropped in. If the VSV is faulty and I manage to get another one which works, will it fix the high idle problem? Or if I find that it's working correctly, is it better to just delete and block off as mentioned above?

    Thanks.
