Our UK planned Celica 4th gen meet was a success ! Had 18 Celicas, 13 were 162s and 5 165s. The meeting attracted 3 owners who were non cllub related. Rich (Alwayzsidewayz) and myself were totally overwhelmed by it all, that we had tears in our eyes ! To see a covoy of 7 Celicas driving up at the entrance, we were speechless ! What a feeling ! I'm sure you guys reading can understand what I'm talking about. Rich's Celica took pride of place in pole position A non club member paid £10,000 for this in 1992 Mark 162 UK lovely two tone car "Thesherve" unfinished project Nice looking wheels on this 162 All the ST162s 165 line up Cabriolet line up All the owners :cool
Wish we had meets like this in the US, particularly with 4th gens. Everyone there looks dedicated to their cars. IMO most people in Europe give higher regard to their Celicas, I'm betting partly because of its WRC participation. Rallying isn't too popular here still today. But I think Ken Block is making more known. Recently, he's done the Gymkhana. Anyways, off topic there haha. Lucky group you have there! Wish I was closer to the UK haha. By the way, I don't usually prefer the vert Celicas but those black ones are just fabulous. Especially with the dark interior.
I love the UK Contingency... You can just see the pride in ownership with every one of these specimens... :bowdown
