Its Polyester Paint, a lot nicer to spray than acrylic!

That does look nice, want to be a bit darker grey than that though.

More updates anyway seen as people have deemed this project fit for ride of the month last for May which is slightly confusing seen as its not even on the road. Really please people have taken such an interest, and thankyou to those who voted for work in progress. Got a lot to live up to now!

So cleaned a few more parts up ready to spray, the underside just needs a couple more coats then we can get on with adding a little colour to the old girl getting a little tired of buff primer!!

And a few painted, red springs naturally!

    :D

Put some more washing out today, was on call with work so didnt want to do too much as knowing my luck Id get stuck in and the phone would ring.

Cleaned up the other 3 driveshafts and painted them. Also painted the anti roll bars for now they will be going back on unless some come up cheap. Finally painted the fuel tank after cleaning it up, just need to get the Por treatment inside make sure its sealed and no bits of rust that are likely to cause issues.

nice one, but are you not afraid of paint letting go inside the tank causing your fuelfilter to clog up??

Set to with a bit of Tie coat primer, saves having to key POR15 when its dry. Made a start on the new brake and fuel lines. I expected it to take a lot longer than it did, but managed get most of them done. Just need to get another roll of 6mm Kunifer to finish of with the last 2 brake pipes front to back. Then just need some new ends fitting.

Well little progress as of late typical British weather to blame, but here is what I have got done.

Firstly having a little play Nickel plating bolts.

Found chance to put a little primer on get rid of that tiresome buff colour. Also to help me find, fill in and smooth the dings and dents that have occured from sandblasting and the general moving about.

Uncovered my seats to get them ready for the re trim, last you will see them looking like this. ;) Also got the door cards out for a good clean and inspection, dont see a need to re-cover them as they look pretty good even the retro fabric.

Got all the body kit parts out ready to clean up and repair the chips
    [IMG]

    Spoiler ends de-holed

Lastly was missing the feel of rust so thought I would go find the sunroof, It has a few holes but not as bad as I thought it would be. Do I attempt to repair it that is the question
    [IMG]

Oh and had chance to do this last night ;)

Dont worry this is just a coat of high build primer, to try and fill some of the little pin holes

They're always out of stock but hang in there............ I gotta love a new fiberglass sun-roof with a new rubber seal................... Lube with a light smear of vaseline or whatever will ensure a waterproof seal and all is sweet.

Diesel is NOT ride of the month.................... he's ride of the YEAR/S and that tractor had me in stitches :lol

This is no doubt that this restoration is the most comprehensive to date.......... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Trying to keep it up but really need the weather to be on my side to get this paint done!

Besides that I have cleaned up and painted the exhaust heat shields

Decided to give my front wings a coat of POR15 on the inside to try and stop them rusting when they are in place

That done thought best if I put the final coats on the underside. All I need now it a rear subframe and diff to paint and fit and she can be dropped on to some wheels.

^I used to deal these parts for this guy. The reason I don't anymore is that he's always out of stock. He's impossible to do business with. Maybe one day I'll try again and get you guys some better prices, but it'll probably be a long time......and it's already been 2.5 years.

Nope, you're exactly right. I've seen some come close, but never to this level of dedication. I'm not kidding when I say this restoration makes me feel cheap. Like a fraud.....and kind of ashamed.

    Slowly getting there....

Had a good old fight tonight with this ...

All was going well the good old Snap on Impact gun made an ease with all the bolts bar one.... stupid camber adjust bolts it undid fine but could I remove the sleeve, could I hell as like! So heat it up bang with a hammer bit of penetrating oil, repeat several times till it finally moved the sub frame requires a little bit of welding and straightening but will be grand. So its off to work tomorrow to wash off and tack the bit I broke off back on :brickwall:

I managed to do this Sunday morning also.... what used to be here :p
