I think you're misunderstanding. That's not the price. However, the margins aren't that great so what you or anyone else pays will never qualify as not paying "anywhere close to that...." Hell, if I bought one of those bars at my price it would be close. Catch my drift? So really, you're goal is to pay less than retail since that is pretty much what you'll find if you shop out there on your own. Furthermore, you can't count on this site. If your strategy is to wait for more people then you'll be waiting for a while. 95% of ST162 owners are starting out on their first car and don't have the income to support it. Don't believe me? Count the members that have replied to this thread in the two weeks it's been up. Notice too, that this is pretty much a GI thread. We can't even generate interest let alone buyers. I'd be willing to work something out with you because if we don't, we'll both be unhappy.

no I understood perfectly.....and I know about any group buy about interest...u always have only a few.....i still want them and by almeans I know that was retail...price wise....im not gonna rush out and buy these if I can get them for the same price..... and I think I counted 3 maybe four with mafix but I thought he already had these.

by almeans those I want to get these but their not at the top of the list but if I get a hood deal then its worth it for me to spend the cash and have them sit for a bit....im still in tho....but I dont mind waiting is what I meant due to im in no rush to get this yet.

    no offense.

i got 25mm on my stocker. sounds like stock is hollow vs. whiteline solid. have a set comming to me will be a bit before i get both. if you tap the stocker it does sound hollow to me.

it's not hollow. read a couple pages back. the front bar is 24mm, basically changing the front to 22mm and changing the back to bigger will reduce understeer.

What it actually says is that stiffening the rear will cause it to lose more and more traction which makes it tail happy.
We find that most often race cars need softening in the rear to improve handling, many times throwing the rear bar away to get a good dry/wet balance

Jon is right - fit one bar at a time and test the difference. At least then you have an idea what is wrong if the handling goes wonky

Take it to a track and do some laps with each setup to find the best handling, your ass isn't a very good g-meter

Kev, tweaking the rear bar one way or the other is a world apart on the RWD race cars you're used to. I'm sure you'll agree that for these FWD guys, they need to think about that from the opposite mindset. I can't imagine a FWD car being tailhappy without an upgraded swaybar in the rear. You'd think that giving it more grip back there would be counter productive, but the only FWD cars I've seen get tail happy or on three wheels are ones that have the power to do it and are stiff in back. That is what I've seen with my own two eyes and while I agree that it goes against conventional wisdom it is indeed what I've seen. I guess with enough grip on one side to lift the other wheel off the ground, we're able to get that remaining wheel to break from the pavement. That's my analysis....dunno if it's correct.

Let's see what Jon thinks, he has the experience to judge what his handling is doing.
I'm worried people make changes to their cars and end up hurting themselves, remember that most don't have new suspension and stiffer bars will only mask already bad handling.
Stiffer springs and shocks will also usually do a better job than stiffer bars.

Stiff bars may be great in the dry but in the wet they are a menace

thanks stig. yeah expect a full write up/review. just got those new wheels, so i should be able to do it on a proper set of rubber. also going to need an alignment after the rack mod, so ill test them with the stock settings, then tweak the adjustments from there. i dont really drive it enough to worry about tire life so ill probably run the settings out to what 09 was at.

-remeber the way 09 was setup virtually eliminated understeer, and she'd 3 wheel corners all day on all stock stuff. hopefully i dont rake the dogs lip off.

mine is tail happy already. but then mine is also flat as hell. hence why i'm interested in only a huge rear bar. like 22mm or bigger.

My last Racecar was an '84 Nissan Pulsar, car never handled properly until we ditched the front swaybar. In other words if your running a fairly serious suspension set-up, then going to a larger rear bar is the way to go! Oh and by the way, that car had custom Koni inserted coil-overs with 375 ft/lb 2 1/2"x8" springs and no bar, rear was Carrera inverted shocks, set full-stiff with 295 ft/lb 2 1/2"x8" springs and a 7/8" Addco rear bar with adjustable end-links. Car weighed in at 1980lbs with driver and handled like a go-cart, was best driving car I ever raced, just hoping the Celica will be that good when finished. By the way an LSD in a FWD car can cause added understeer, so ditching the front bar helps to counter-act this trait.
