I was pleased to learn that the sunroof doesn't leak! lol no rust from what I can see anywhere on the car.

    So more pics!

is this similar to the catch can mentioned above?
This thing is responsible for all the oil you see everywhere under the hood! I HATE IT but i'm not sure how or if i should get rid of it. should oil be coming out of this???

Braided fuel lines! not sure how to tell if the injectors are stock or not though...any info on that would be awesome (keep in mind its a 93 gte)

Looks like a stock harness and injector plugs so I'd be pretty sure their stock injectors
Take off the plug and see what color the injector side of the plugs are.

loose this filterthing and use an oil catch can and re-attache it to the inlet again. That's better then this shitty solution which dirties the engine bay.

it has a CAI so should I just plumb it into the piping pre-turbo?

When I sober up I'll link to some more pictures from my build thread. I have both the mini filter and catch can setup.

That's where mine goes on the gen1 3sgte.

    Some more info i've found.

    This is my ECU
    [IMG]

a quick # Check revealed that it is for a 1987-89 ST165...if this car does INDEED have a 1993 MR2 engine shouldn't it be running off of a 1993 MR2 ECU? now i'm questioning what the engine is REALLY from...can anyone help me to identify which Gen 3S-GTE I have?

    based on this picture

It looks to me like you probably have a gen 5 engine thats definetely a gen 5 not a gen 4 valve cover.
    The exhaust manifold is aftermarket.
The intake manifold is hard to see but is probably a 4th gen since your still useing a 4th gen ECU
and an air flow meter. The 5th gen should use a MAF sensor.

So you basically have 4th gen electronics and 5th gen mechanics. A much easier swap than trying to
splice the 5th gen engine wiring harness into the 4th gen wiring. Even trying to put a 4th gen 3sgte
into a 4th gen GTS is a pain.

You can read more in this post I made http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?5359-4TH-gen-GT-GTS-All-Trac-3sgte-upgrade

One of these days I will be doing a ST205 swap and for the few dollars more its going to cost me I'm going to get a
complete front clip. That way I have pretty much all the ST205 wiring, engine bay and interior fuse boxes, so I can pretty
much mix and match as I need.

that's a 2nd gen 3sgte. how many wires are coming out of your afm?
are you anywhere near rickstar22? he would be the closest wealth of knowledge i think.

Rickstar is about an hour and a half away.

So am I taking full advantage of the power this motor has to offer by using this ECU? I plan on upgrading to a Megasquirt EMS at some point...but that won't be for quite a while.

you're not so much taking full advantage of it. currently you're most likely using a st165 ecu to run a st185 motor. basically the guy wanted to do a st185/sw20 swap on it, but didn't wanna deal with the wiring involved and decided that sticking with st165 wiring would be easiest, but of course to do that, you have to swap the intake manifold and its' electronics from a st165 to match the ecu.

Okay so i'm looking for some more information from you guys...In an attempt to fix the idle issue i removed the TB and IAC to clean them...this is what i've found so far...I will post more pictures later.

Basically my question right now is what is this line? I connected 1 line from the TB that I know was a coolant line because coolant went everywhere...there was another line on there as well that I couldnt tell if it was vacuum or cooalnt...I'm pretty sure it was coolant....so this is a third hose...what is it supposed to run to? the end is blocked off by a bolt...this is the biggest hose on the TB and it is coming off of the bottom of the IAC....please help!

Whoops I guess it helps if I actually add the Picture!

    There you go! lol

Okay so i've got my IAC or ISC whichever it is taken off...here are some more pictures...Please help me get this figured out asap...I need to put my car back together today so I can drive it to work tomorrow!

The green lines here are the coolant lines for the ISC...the red lines are where the rubber hose in the pic above is connected...was this for the EGR? it is incredibly dirty so I figured it has to be right?...is there any harm in leaving it blocked like it was? Isnt the computer going to be expecting that extra "air"?

The next two pics show the port open and closed...this is where I'm thinking the EGR ran through...correct me if I'm worng.

Okay so I'm feeling really stupid now for thinking that the pipe was EGR....I realized that the hose is supposed to be run to the stock air box between the MAF and turbo...this explains the idling issues I've been having....however after taking everything apart and cleaning it the idle is already much smoother...I just need to get a fitting put into my intake pre-turbo in order to hook this hose up...

you really need a BGB for that alltrac...diagrams are awesome when it comes to dealing with all of these hoses/leaks/custom shit.

So here is my most recent "OOPS" moment. Pics below lol

I tried to flip a U-Turn on my street (i was driving like an idiot) and there was a "island" at the intersection I was at....basically I went all the way over it....I ended up with 3 sidewalls blown out and one bent rim.

Later that same day I got a set of rims off of a 2000 Celica GT...I got the entire set with almost brand new tires for only $100 They do have some curb damage and had been plasti-dipped so they still have some black plastic crud on the spokes...all in all a good deal though...

    New wheels fitted.

Cant think of the exact tire size at the moment but there is some slight rubbing if I hit a bump while cornering...I did find out that my car also has a set of lowering springs....not sure of the brand but I will try and find out. Would spacers help with the rubbing issue? I want to take the wheels off this weekend to see if I can see what it is rubbing on but i'm thinking it is the top of the wheel well

Well with the ODO approaching 180K miles and it burning oil like crazy I decided it was time for an engine swap. I recently purchased a JDM Gen 3 3SGTE to drop in.

Halfway through pulling the old motor out I found a buyer on the here for the old engine/wiring/ECU so that is gone already. I later learned that the engine had been rebuilt at some point.

Anyway. Engine out and waiting for new engine to go in
    [IMG]

Once the new engine arrived I began combing over it to see what was missing.
Immediately I noticed that I was missing most of the fuse box. My old fuse box was sold with the engine/wiring so I went to the wreckers and picked up a wiring harness and fuse box off of an 88 GT.

Also I noticed that I'm missing the MAP sensor.
I've contacted the person who supplied the engine and we are in the process of acquiring another one.

anyway here are just a couple pics I snapped of the engine real quick

I'm currently working on the wiring part of the swap. I plan on dropping the new engine in hopefully next weekend. I will keep you all up to date!

Also the ST205 top mount WTAIC is going to be up for sale shortly. I will let it go cheap to someone on here if you want an upgrade for your ST165 one. I will post pics later and start a thread in the "for sale" section.
