Is there a guide located somewhere for this? My thermostat keeps hitting red but my car isn't overheating at all. I'll blast the fan in the car and it will go down and then back up again. Infact, it seems to have a mind of its own apparently :aargh . I popped the hood and hardly any heat is coming from the usual spots so I assume its just broken.

And, of course, the heater doesn't work :sad5

Sounds like the temp sensor to me. The sensor right next and below the alternator. The sensor is connected to the thermostat housing, the thermostat is inside the housing there.

There's a water release on the radiator on the bottom to the Left side of the car.

Then under/to the right of the alternator should look like this:

What you see unplugged in the coolant temp sensor. Before you change the thermostat, unplug this first to see if it helps, because this keeps the fan on all the time. If not, it's likely the thermostat. Then you'd have to take out that rubber hose you see on there, two bolts that you see there, then out comes the water housing + thermostat.

This might be a little more cramped if you have A/C
