left the top on my car down the other night, was a little dewy outside, went to get food got half way down the road and realized none of the windows would go up. the little LEDS in the drivers switch would light up wit the headlights on but when u would push for the window to go up the LEDS would go out. drove a good 8 miles and then everything worked fine.

anyone got any ideas, thinking it is a master relay or suttin since it affected all the windows for that 15 mins it didnt work?

i answered in your other post....you dont need to ask the same question in different post.....most of us read every post anyway......once will do.

change out your driver side control switch first....should fix your problem , if not try your passenger side switch.......then head to relays and fuses.......these switches are so damn sensitive sometimes....i went through four in a month once.

went to drive my car this morning and everything is dead again, (if all is dead then it is the driver right? and if a passenger went it would only kill that window right?) if that is the case then i need a driver side master. searched all the yards like 2 weeks ago and only 1 celica wit wind windows :sad5

    anybody got 1 for a 89gt? $$?

I have several spares. More than likely its ur master switch. I would have to test the switches cause I can't remember which work or not....lol

Find the circuit breaker for the windows - number 17 in the drivers kick panel - If it has tripped you can push it down with a pin or take it apart.

I found that unplugging the passenger switch would trip the circuit breaker, had me stumped for a while.

Disconnect the battery first i thinks

do u think the problem is in there if it just starts working again, seems to not work when it is dewy outside becuz once it is sunny lata in day it works fine, but it is a vert so i guess dew could get in maybe? its got me stumped how do u kno what to replace if it works? haha

take that swicth and blow it dry with a dryer and put it back together it should work fine then and keep roof closed next time it should not happen again

    :iagree

-also if it comes to it remember that there are pre and post controlers. they are not interchangeable.

-edit: just realized its a vert. so this may or may not be true. but would be worth a look.

water shouldnt screw up the switch. its a simple mechanical device... it just needs cleaning and maybe a small bit of adjustment.

yeah it doesnt matter what years....the only difference is size....there are bigger ones and smaller ones....but the only thing you have to change is the door card holder for the window switches....i have both so i can use the supra ones as well.

when it went dead the second time the car was all closed up, but it was morning and dewy, went out in afternoon and all was fine. i will take it all apart and clean and put it back together, hopefully that will work maybe disconnecting and reconnecting will make connection better.

Trel is correct on the breaker. You need to find out what is tripping the breaker. You can reset it as he described but that will get annoying fast.

but if it was tripped shouldnt i have to reset it, becuz this is a on and off thing without me doing anything?
