there is this two stop light intersection right outside my high school that I hated even before today I hated it then and I REALLY hate it now two streets come on to the main street of my town about 50 ft down the street from eachother so there are two stoplights, one for each intersection at the second one, people turn left onto Allen street at the first people turn right onto a street that I forget the name of, the main road is a 4 lane main street WITH NO LEFT TURN LANE! :banghead so my brother sees an admittedly awesome lookin 57 belair and looks at it for just a little too long in the gap between the two intersections, im screaming at him to stop 20 ft or so before he reaches the 2001 alero that has stopped to turn left at the second one. by the time he realizes what im yelling about he only has time to slam the brakes and turn, but it wasn't enough and he hit the alero going about 20 mph, a glancing blow on the drivers side. We had joked before that if any harm ever came to the car I would punch the one responsible directly in the face but I didn't I really felt like it though In fact after the first 30 seconds I was extremely level headed and I haven't cried. yet. so we called the police and started the car back up (Thank Christ the car seems to have suffered only structural damage) we followed the Alero onto Allen street and stopped to expect a calm explanationary period before the cops showed up but all we got was a fat 40 something who only cared about how she was going to be late for work, and her own pile of shit oldsmobile, I don't think she ever even asked if we were okay, It was our fault, but have some common courtesy for someone who just lost a piece of their soul in that car accident. The kicker was the only thing damaged about her shit was the back bumper while im going to have to replace a whole headlight/turn signal assembely plus a drivers fender and hood, PLUS a bumper. disregard the fact that she could go and find her bumper easily and wont have to ship in parts from all over the country just to replace them. So the cops get there and they take forever to file the report as usual and during this period I discover the hood doesn't shut, so I ask the officer if he has a bungee cord, of course he doesn't but the good news is there was a hardware store just down the street so I drove down there after he'd finished his report and my bro bought a bungee cord we got about half way home and that Chinese made piece of trash broke and the hood flew up onto the windshield but luckily it didn't break I drove home the rest of the way at 20 mph pissed the fuck off at the hardware store for selling me that bullshit the car is at home now and my brother was issued a 105$ ticket for failure to stop all this plus the fact that I have no car to get to school or work with now at least until I get the hood to shut Can some peeps also help me to find this list of parts (Red 1987 USDM Gt model) Drivers front Fender Hood Drivers turn signal Drivers Headlight assembley Front Bumper Cover Suprisingly the grille didn't crack a place where I can buy Super red II paint in large quantities it will be fixed, but how long depends on how much time it takes to get these things Pics to come, this is a sad day
no, you can turn left there, its just that there isnt a designated left turn lane so its a really annoying intersection
they will fit but the mounting point on the headlight for the front grill is different if I remember correctly
yes they are but you would need to swap the entire front end out....the mounting holes are different but you can fit it there. must of misread that about the left turn... . same situation but at 15 miles an hour....i looked down to make sute the cd hit its mark...if i would of had 8 more inches i wouldve cleared her.

Damage pics before I took it apart afters are to large ill have to fix those this is the jist, all cosmetic, but still a drag the fact that we hit another car instead of a static object probably helped us
i have an 87 corner lamp. don't swap stuff from an 88. it just becomes a bitch when you try to install everything correctly. i'll trade my 87 corner lamp for a good 88 corner lamp... someone put in 87 stuff in my 88 alltrac and unless you swap the whole thing from the headlight/grille/corners, the mounting points will require zipties.

Also, I got the parts car, it ended up being a 1989 GT Convertible that was 100 miles closer to me than the one I previously posted and 300$ cheaper He even gave me a spare set of Ok condition fenders for free ill post pics of it tomorrow, pm me if you want something (ill also be making a thread in "parts for sale" regarding this car)
can you take photos of your corner light on the right side in different light? i have two different ones that are usdm ones. i have one that is a nice deep orange and one that is more tangy yellow...
Fixed pics here is the result of all the repairs ive done, the body came back really good, and the fender and hood need painting but are aligned well enough getting pre facelift parts soon as well also if any of you remember it, my dads project Chrysler 300 is lurking back there
