when i use my left signal if i pull it down so it stays i get a buzz like the doors open and blinker does not operate. if i hold the signal down just above where it clicks down my signal works just fine? looking for ideas for where to start looking. I'm thinking the switch its self is shorting.

Sometimes you can clean the contacts, and it'll be ok. It usually means the switch is on the way out.

Mines done the same since I inherited the Burpcar three years ago...just learned to live with it and only pull down the lever halfway. About 25 years ago my 87 Tercel company car did the same and it was the whole switch that was bad...

I didn't fully disassemble mine as I had a spare, so by the time I removed the faulty one, I just put in the spare.

Junkyard, Craigslist, Gen4 sites are your best bets.

185 is different and won't work. You can try to disassemble and clean the contacts, some have had success with that. I would post up on Celica sites "parts wanted" to see if people in other parts of the USA or Canada can help. Our cars are old and parts are getting so hard to find. Good luck.

Yep, steering wheel comes off. Check the want ads on this site, I've seen the turn signals for sale before. IIRC, Dave from Quebec had some for sale.
