Yup, some members already bought it, even the maker was on the forum before the site crash. I decided to get one too, but there are other things on my list that need to be taken care of first
I was reading through their write up on ebay, followed a trail to alltrac.net and they seem to be top quality. He says they are made in the same factory as Cusco and Selex and from what he says, his customer service is great! When I eventually have some money to spend on the Celica again, I will probably get these!
I basically stole the Megans from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260845659543?ss ... 1439.l2649 Nearly everything there will bolt in to my '89 GTS. Megans usually sell for $850-$1000 (MSRP of them is $999) by themselves.
i had the thought of running the AU ones but my wife shot that all to hell. moral of my story, search for great deals and don't get married.
HAHHAHAH lol. Yeah I watched it for 9 days and didn't watch it for the last 9 (just kept peeking at it day after day). I lowballed him and won. The coilovers are at a fab shop right now getting fixed :giggity: Pics & install pics to come later.
And she's in!!!! There is the modification I had to do on the coilover to make it fit. Just had to move the hold down just a hair and it bolts right in. Sway bar end link, strut mount at the top, blah blah blah. Downside...I used to be able to roll my jack under the car on the side. Not anymore, I need a cheater jack (or a low profile jack).
and thats what i was thinking, is you would have to drill a new hole....just kinda skim the old one till she fits.....how low are you planning on running her.
iPhone pics I think that's about where I'll run it. I need to see how it handles first though. Before I had some wicked rebound when pushing on a corner. Now, there is NONE (literally, none). I think I need to soften them up quite a bit.
I really do not know. I just installed them as-is. The ride height has dropped for sure. My floor jack handle is about 5-6" higher than the roof of the car, and I can no longer slide it under the side to jack it up. I had to use the stock jack as a cheater jack to get my jack out. I think it's time I invest in a low profile jack now..... I need to ride it and see how it feels before I go about changing anything else on the suspension.
So what pics do y'all want now? They're on, only had move a hole down maybe 1/4" (more like 1/8" I'd say).
Finally, I get around to pictures. Everything is clickable to generate some uber grande pictures. First off, size comparisons. Stock ST162 shock assembly and Megan coilover. Fronts: Rears: This shows the difference between the st162 and st182 rear shock assembly bolt pattern. Very minor, but still a modification that is necessary. Once modified, they bolt right in with no other issues (including end links and upper strut mount). The gap left from drilling Clearance left after the installation. Before I was able to slide the floor jack all the way under the rocker panel. Not anymore, I need a cheater jack Full side shot after suspension installation Obligoroy ricer shot..
