    Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a long while but here's what I've done so far to my 86 GTS:

    1) Fully rebuilt and balanced 3SGE shortblock
    2) rebuilt 3SGE Cylinder head with mild exhaust porting done
    3) full KYB AGX adjustable suspension front and rear
    4) whiteline swaybar in the rear, poly mounts everywhere else
    5) DW 320LPH fuel pump install with all rubber replaced with either braided stainless or E85 compatible rubber
    6) 42lb injectors
    7) Perfect Power E4EZ Piggyback fuel controller installed
    8) Running E85 fuel full time. Piggyback auto adjusts based on true E85 mixure :)
    9) Base ignition timing increased to 16 degrees because E85 (Ethanol) can take MUCH more ignition timing than gasoline.
    10) TVIS plate bored out and butterfly valve system removed

Ok, now you've got a brief history on my car now its time to see what I'm working on next. A complete replacement for the 3SGE intake manifold and TVIS plate. This new intake manifold will be 100% bolt on for options of retaining your OE cold start injector and Idle Air Control system. All the R&D is coming out of my pocket but I will have enough flanges to make at least 3 manifolds right from the get go. Anyone interested?
Also what other good 3SGE forums should I post this on?

Don't believe me? Here's a screen shot of to Cadded up Intake manifold flange.. :)

No interest in this at all? Me and my fabricator are discussing options to include on the manifold. ie things like 100% bolt on with factory TVIS, and all hoses/vac lines. Options for other throttle bodies etc...

Oh BTW, this is my fabricator. He's pretty well known in the Hyundai community for making some good turbo kits.

Did I post in wrong forum?

Hey, thanks for sharing this with us. It's a tough market for 3sge fabricators, as a lot of power seeking 3sge owners have simply swapped out for a 3sgte. hopefully you'll be able to find someone for it. since the 2nd gen 3sgte intake manifold uses tvis and it might be beneficial to have a side feed manifold, perhaps you can share it with the mr2 community as well. mr2oc/mr2.com/etc

    Thanks

if they are reasonably priced, anyone with a gen1/2 3sgte will be interested. as alot of them try to scam the gen1 ge manifold for better intercooling pipework and other benefits.

ATS do a replenum, and racerX do custom jobbies. prices vary from $700-1k iirc.

My price target is going to be about 450-500 dollars for a base price. Options like different throttle body flanges and such will naturally add more. Oh, and there will be options to powder coat the manifold various colors. :)

Regardless if anyone buys another one I'll have one!! Thanks for suggesting the MR2 crowd! I forgot about them!

Shorter intake manifold studs will be required if no spacer is used to compensate.. it makes install a thousand times easier with a st165 because of fire wall interference.
I discovered this when mating a 3rd gen non-tvis intake manifold to my 1st gen 3sgte.

Sorry its been sooooo long between updates on this. Life can get crazy, especially with a 3yr old daughter. This is finally done! Now all that remains is to install this puppy and get some dyno time. :) Overall I'm really please with the work done and the internal velocity stacks came out perfect! I'll let you all know once its installed meanwhile here's some more teaser pics! :)

That looks spectacular.. Though with the angle of the engine and that bulge in the st162 and st165 firewall will there be space to accommodate the intake? I have the side feed intake plenum that ATS racing sells and I had to cut a chunk off the back end to make it fit.. Not to mention I was just barely able to get the st205 plenum to fit through use of shorter studs..

tell me why this is better then the OEM 3S-GE intake?

Capable of letting more air in the engine and allowing for larger amounts of fuel to create more power.. Plus it looks good.
That's my thoughts. I am sure the improvement seen with this intake would supercede those from a Caldena side feed as well.

Will be interesting to see if it makes any difference at all?
I like the equal length tubes and velocity stacks but I don't think you can improve on the GE inlet very easily

I'd rather spend the money on cams, adjustable pulleys, head job etc
